This makes it even weirder that Publix would be the sole vaccination site for Palm Beach County..

I wouldn't put it beyond Publix and DeSantis to not have thought through this but this whole thing seems shady AF..

My friends in Longview got theirs at Brookshire Brothers Grocery. It wasn't a big mess because they were doing small numbers by appointment only. However, you not going to approach the numbers needed that way.

Their County just approved a Distribution Center yesterday. The State denied the County's application until they partnered with one of the two local hospital chains.

Won't matter, people in Florida, especially republicans in Florida, are into corruption.

I was actually thinking primary, given his spectacular ineptitude.

    Your point may stand regardless.

Just as bad is this thought.

Donald Trump JR & GF, Ivanka, and maybe even Eric are pondering possibilities for their own bids for office.

All I can say is that hopefully the New York DA and the Capitol riots show them involved in criminal activity and corruption and charge them with felonies to put a halt to their shady ambitions.

I dont have an immediate problem with this experiment. That is not to say this can go south.

Publix is a quality chain. Considering the lackluster progress the government has been putting forth, new options are warranted. If this was given to Walmart or some other shitty chain like Walgreens, I would be much more concerned. If I was to pick a single distributor to better distribute and manage the supply, I would pick Publix. They are very abundant (in well off areas).

It's not about Publix distributing the vaccine. It's about politicians taking money for favors. It shouldn't happen. I don't care that it happens all the time.

    WTF are you talking about.

The gov is still involved in this and Publix is still depending on the gov.

Walgreens is already doing this and there have been no issues. Publix is not distributing and managing anything they are just providing shots.

    Do some actual research dude.

So the government is showing up at every Publix and Walgreens store and every literal distribution point, handing out the syringe to the Publix employee so they can provide the shot? This is basically what you said.

Or is the gov giving Publix xx thousands of vaccines and telling them to manage and distribute it?

Im not sure where you twisted my words around. I never said the government wasn't involved. Florida is experimenting with not micromanaging several different distributors in a single county.

I know this is difficult for you to understand. But the point is if you live in Palm Beach County, there is only one place you can contact for the vaccine and any information for the availability of the vaccine. A person dont have to call around dozen different places and get on a dozen different lists and get conflicting information. People are signing up at multiple different places and once they get the vaccine, they do not follow up to cancel the others. This is causing massive inefficiencies and potential doses to go to waste.

So in Palm Beach County, Publix is indeed managing and distributing the vaccine.

Yes it is difficult to understand because you said this.

"Considering the lackluster progress the government has been putting forth, new options are warranted. If this was given to Walmart or some other shitty chain like Walgreens, I would be much more concerned. "

Doing this deal with Publix changes nothing about gov progress. the gov is already doing this with Walgreen.

It's obvious you have no idea what this means if you actually had multiple places it would mean you could probably get the vaccine quicker.

How is anyone going to get the vaccine faster? You understand there is more than 1 Publix in the state of FL, right?

If Palm Beach County is allocated 100,000 doses, it doesnt magically turn into 200,000 if you allow Walgreens to distribute it also. The more you divide up the supply, the more difficult it becomes. 1 list that tells you when and where to show up, depending on the criteria you entered. This is the way it should be done.

There are 78 Publix stores in Palm Beach County, not 1. 78 is indeed "multiple places"

You make no sense do you work for Publix?

You still have not explained you gov stance.

The real issue is the money and the access but you can continue to be a Publix stan.
