I know you're half joking, but people like this is whats going to eventually lead us to national gun registration.

Sure, I'm half joking, but trespassing in the middle of the night is super shady and is likely to get you shot. If you're doing that playing a stupid kids game.....well you're part of what's wrong with the US.

Who says these teens were "trespassing"? They were sitting in a car, on the road outside of the guy's home. The guy just presumed that they stole from his home and pointed his gun at them.

Ah, I thought they were walking around his house, if they were always just sitting in their car or standing near their car then it's completely different. Perhaps I heard the story inaccurately.

Yeahhh the kids were in their car. The idiot owner steps in front of the vehicle and points the gun at the car and tells them not to move/leave/whatever. The guys freak out, rightfully so, and floor it. The idiot home owner gets out of the way and chooses to fire at them as they are fleeing. I would say his guns need to be taken from him.

Yeah, that's pretty insane, if that's how it went down, he absolutely should face charges. I always thought it took place on his property, there's no excuse in that kind of reckless behavior.

Per the report, the shooter "stepped in front of the vehicle" and ordered the teens not to move, and that's when the vehicle "sped towards him." If the teens were outside the vehicle, they would have had to run back into the vehicle with the gun pointed at them, start it and drive it.

The shooter never actually saw the teens outside the vehicle or on his property.

The report also says that the vehicle had bullet holes in the rear tire, hubcap and fender. So it was moving away when the shooter was firing at the teens.

I think he needs to be tried for attempted murder.

This just goes to show people with guns are WAY too trigger happy and why it's insane to let people have guns because they "think" there's a criminal and instead of calling the police the confront the situation with their gun and then fire it at a car for no logical reason.

Attempted murder is a little strong. He certainly needs charges slapped to him and his guns removed.

But lets not generalize to the point and assume everyone with a gun is like this. Its actually a small minority. I do completely agree there is just no gun responsibility expected.

What was the shooter intending and attempting to do when he fired his gun at the two Pokemon players driving away from him? Does he have any basis for claiming self defense?

I don't think he has a case for that.
