Just got home helping a friend and his parents move some of their stuff to higher ground. They live off of Rayford Rd where Spring Creek comes through their neighborhood. Water was rising fairly quickly. I imagine it will continue as the runoff from Waller moves downstream.
I used to live in Houston...most of it near Hwy 6 and 290 AND Champions Forest. How much flooding/rainfall did those areas receive? Is it possible to move around in those areas? How is FM 1960 and 249 area? (I live in Montana now. I'm curious/concerned for my old neighborhood)
Welp, water's in my garage now. I've spent the past hour trying to slow it down by putting down bags of mulch. The water is now literally on my doorstep. (I'm in Cypress)
Thanks. Repped. I used to live on Point NW Blvd at the Waterford apts. 15-17 inches in that area. Wow. Looks like it got the worst of it. I was reading about the city I live in...Billings, MT. The all time highest rainfall record for one day here is 3.12 inches. That's 13 inches less than what they got. Good lord.
Dad took a video of the street I grew up on in Katy (Franz Road at GP). This area has different tributaries that flow into the Buffalo Bayou (Mason Creek, etc.). Not once has the street flooded but today the water was over the curbs and sidewalks and now going up driveways. I'd the say the curbs are average size, maybe three to four inches high. Everyone moved their cars that were on the street into driveways and yards.
Ughh sorry to hear that. Where in Cypress? I'm near there. My aunt in Jersey Village got several inches of water in her house
So my car didn't flood but I drove through water, as soon as I started it it started to smell like gas. No idea wtf happened but I turned it off
It appears that Houston is not ready for a major hurricane if we keep getting all this flooding from rain. Has all the extra people and construction messed up our drainage? Everyone should probably get flood insurance if you don't have it.
Why wont these helicopters pass by greenspoint? Or better yet, the news reporter give coordinates for help.
We had to shutdown delivery in the woodlands. It was crazy. I'm hoping our partners in Hugh's Landing are ok. It wasn't down south. I worked in Lake Jackson all day and didn't see rain after lunch.
24 hr fitness on Richmond Ave just outside the loop sucks. i went in for my regular workout and it was shut. Roads were all clear and there was no ****ing notice on the front door Had to make some calls and finally went to the location on Westheimer and Chimney Rock After my workout went to best buy opposite the 24 hr on Richmond just outside the loop. Closed also Amazing how this city completely shuts down
They need to be open so FTW can flex in his too small and faded polo shirt in the mirror with the entire gym to himself.
