Anyone know of anything like this? My house flooded the hell out in April and I'm looking for something to raise my beds, couches, and appliances if I know a flood is coming. Looking to lift things about 18 inches. I don't want to buy all new crap all over again if I can help it. I live about 100 yards from the bayou so I need to figure something out until I can move. The best I can think of is cinder blocks but hell that's going to be a lot of blocks and I'm not sure I want them all over the place.
Old paint cans, seriously. Sorry to hear about your house. Most people that get flooded only get a couple of inches. You can actually use soup and veggie cans in a crunch.
We actually have a bunch of paint cans from the contractors painting our walls over again but I think they're too short. We got about 18 inches of water in our house last time. Maybe if we stack them it would save the beds but our couches are pretty heavy, recliner type monsters. Not sure we could stack cans for heavy things. Thanks though, I appreciate it.
Cinder blocks would stack better than paint cans. Granted, I'd probably just sacrifice the guest beds for anything truly heavy worth saving.
You can also slide 2x4s through the cinder blocks to create a quick frame, if that helps for some furniture
