Here's a little present for all of you who wish we had re-signed Luc.

This is a visual representation of exactly how Luc would look for us during a game:

Can we get eremy Lin skmehow. I feel like he would actually fit in well with the current situation.

He can run the offense when CP is resting games

How about trading for Aaron Gordon and have him at PF and have PJ play SF or come off the bench.. send of EG and Knight and some fillers..

    CP3
    Harden
    PJ/Ennis
    Gordon
    Capela

    Bench
    Green
    Ennis/PJ
    Clark
    Hartenstein
    Nene
    House
    MCW
    Chriss

Said it earlier in the thread … gonna say it again.

Don't think there's One player out there (Available) that solves all the Rockets issues.

When you realize that , you have to ask .... Is it worth the assets for incremental improvements and does this help or hinder you in making the move that does solve your problems.

It may be better to wait out this season and see what shakes loose in the offseason than going after an Otto Porter or Bazemore who are owed significant money and not really producing accordingly. You may be stuck with …. Ryan Anderson's contract all over again.

I guess it all depends upon who shakes loose between now and the deadline - someone who moves the needle … or not.

Added this to the trade thread, but here it is for kicks:

I'm trying to address multiple needs, including how damn old we are.

We add wing defense and toughness with Justice.
Depth and shooting at the wing with Ellington.
Center depth and thiccness with O'Quinn
A playable, quality guard in Tyus Jones.

+ Pickup a hopefully bought out Lopez from Chicago:

We lose Gordon and picks, but perhaps the depth is worth the trade off.

    Capela/Lopez/O'Quinn/Hartenstein
    Tucker/Winslow
    Winslow/Ellington/Clarke
    Harden/Ellington/Green
    CP3/Jones/Knight

I'm not on the pulse of every team, so I don't know which teams love their guys, or would trade them. I'm also comfy trading first rounders because we typically miss on those, and our window is limited.

Gordon is all we have, and we need to wring as much value as possible out of him.

If it's a homerun Morey's after, I wonder how Boston is feeling about Hayward. He's just the type of risk this franchise likes to take with his slow return from injury and Tatum/Brown there. The pressure must be on and Gordon is a quality player that balances their roster a little more.

LOL @ Luc Mbah a Moute being part of "the glue that held our team together." He played 61 games for the Rockets.

That's probably how CP3 will look for a big bulk of his contract going forward.

In conversations the Cavs have had around the league, they've begun to express that they'll be willing to take on long-term salary as the trade deadline approaches, league sources said. The Cavs have a couple of veterans they are going to be willing to trade.

The most interest is expected to be in Kyle Korver, who is shooting 46 percent on 3-pointers, but they also have the attractive contract of George Hill, who is making $19 million this season and has just $1 million guaranteed for next season. Hill, who is out because of a shoulder injury, was off to a good start, averaging 12.6 points and shooting 48 percent on 3-pointers in 10 games

Mentioned George Hill earlier, he is currently out with injury, but when he's back, he's a guy that could be useful for the Rockets. He's a one year contract because he's only guaranteed $1 million next season. Rockets should try and send over Knight and Chriss with a second round pick for him.

Rockets get: Kyle Korver and George Hill

Cavs get knight, Chriss, nene, 2 Firsts, 3 million cash.

Cash spend 18 million more salary, 21-3=18

    Rockets save $18 million salary

    That's some strong data visualization.

Can't help but wonder if you could somehow get Luc in street clothes into the Bahama Beach photo.

We can not play a 7 man rotation for the season. We need more players who can actually play. We need to release some of these dead weights at the end of the bench and sign some actual contributors. Isaiah Canaan just got released today.

How the **** did Jazz get Korver for only two 2nd round picks? I'm pissed Morey didn't take advantage of getting Korver on our team if he was that cheap.

We lost almost every game we tried to play without Paul last year too. Heck we even lost games where he played but had limited minutes. This year and last year when we have Harden, Paul, Capella and Tucker healthy we are an excellent team.

Our philosophy is so targeted to beating the warriors , we have a huge problem vs any team that's not them .

Yup, and if Cousins is healthy for the Warriors, even if he won't be anywhere close to his best self, that makes a switching defense possibly become prone to giving up easy baskets and being foul prone.

The rule changes has also not been favorable for the Rockets style of defense, that's part of the problem
