Personally, I'd rather not have an NHL team here. I *LOVE* hockey, but I like having the Aeros here, and if the NHL comes, the Aeros will be gone. Besides, I don't want to have to root for a different NHL team when I've already pledged my allegiance to the Red Wings . . .
really?? you pledged allegiance??? i have about 6 teams i actively root for...that's the benefit of NOT living in an NHL town...you can bandwagon whoever you want each year!! who cares!!?? but if you slap houston on the jersey, i'll be loyal to no end.
Yeah, it's a big production . . . hoods and secret handshakes and all . . . I've only recently gotten into Aeros hockey, but I've really become a big fan. The awesome thing is it's such a good, cheap ticket. An NHL game is gonna run a heck of a lot more, and our team won't be nearly as good (within its league) as the Aeros.
Dude, the Aeros are one game away from winning the championship! Unless we get some completely awesome team, we won't be that good. Besides, since the Aeros have returned, they've been one of the best teams in the IHL, AHL, whatever league(s) they've been in. Consistent winners, consistent playoffs. 1 Championship in the bag and 1 more on the way. I just don't think that we would be as good (comparitively in our league) unless we got the Avalanche or the Devils or Red Wings.
It is just my opinion. Fans on here were complaining about Rockets ticket prices and I saw 20 games for 10 bucks a pop and moved down and always got my moneys worth. Really there is not a bad seat in the summit and people still complain. Wait until they are b****ing about $40 nose bleed seats for the NHL. I've supported the Aeros thru the years, had season tickets the first 3 years and every time I went this year the place was empty. Playoff game a couple weeks back I could have moved down on the glass. I chose instead to stay at center ice lower prom so I could watch the flow of the game. That said, bring a team here and I'll some how find a way to support them all I can.
rocketman -- you're right...great game by Brodeur. and the magic of being a bandwagon fan from Houston...no real heartache the day after!
