Wild Kitchen near the Stella Link/S. Braeswood area have some pretty good burgers (try the Animal Burger or the Special Burger), their fish and chips are pretty good also (can get it London style or Cajun style). Seems on par with the other places described in this thread. http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/reviews/rsv4764.asp
Have you had the burgers at Tailgate in Midtown yet? Freaking awesome. Get one with swiss & jalepenos!
In-N-Out is the greatest burger joint in the world! Freshly made burgers and they make it practically anyway you want it. A lot of people don't know this about In-N-Out, but you can have them put extra cheese, extra tomatoes, extra pickles, and even have them chop up banana peppers and put them in your burger! I think their fries can sometimes be a little better, but its still very good for only a dollar something. I can have In-N-Out everyday and not get bored of it!
Yea, I was lucky to get to eat at In-N-Out a couple of years ago when I went on a business trip to CA. I love Steak N Shake as well as Fuddruckers, but my new favorite burger place is Red Robin. Damn, that place rocks!
I think I heard about this place on some radio show. I just remember whoever was talking saying that they went in and ordered a cheeseburger and fries and the waitress gave him this mean look and said "you don't know what you want," and handed him a menu and ignored him for like 20 minutes. Turns out they don't have fries there, the burger comes with a baked potato.
I tried In-N-Out while in LA once, thought it was junk. Maybe a poor impression. If we're expanding to a best burgers spot, I have to mention The Vortex out in Atlanta (Little 5 Points). Unbelievable. Not fast food burgers, and you've got to bring it. 18 & up. Click the link to get an idea. Anytime I've been in or near Atlanta in the past 5 years, I've made a point to go there. Evan
