I tend to think this also. I don't find White's interviews fascinating in terms of the perspective he brings. He seems to speak a lot of sophistry that sounds good, but really have no substance. Not unlike what you normally hear from politicians.

But then again, the ability to come off as well-spoken in of itself is certainly a talent. And one that should he actually care for the Rockets and his teammates, would actually be an asset. Too bad that as of right now, he only cares for himself and don't want to use his talent for the benefit of the Rockets.

I understood perfectly before you went into your little lecture. No need for the superior attitude, although I suspect that is mainly the reason why you are motivated to believe in this theory.

There are a few problems with the theory. Most have to deal with the number of variables to control for the environment. Socioeconomic status, culture, parenting style, community, media and so on. Also, it only shows a correlation - and as you've probably heard before, it does not imply causation. I won't go into a detailed explanation, since there are better ones out there on the Internet, but here's one that I found informative:

As for White, I don't believe he's intelligent - but I also don't believe it's caused mostly by genetic factors. There's no way to tell, although I would guess that it's partly genetic because of his anxiety disorder, and partly because he was spoiled as a child. In fact, the severity of his anxiety disorder could have be caused by his upbringing.

He's going to be sweating bullets right before that date then he will come up with some excuse about how it's not safe to go.

I think Royce has done far too much wrong to win in a lawsuit.

But I agree that maneuvering for position seems to be what all these recent interviews are about. I wish I could believe Royce's statements that he wants to play basketball, but I just don't anymore.

He effectively said as much in an interview when he said "Actually, I’m a writer by craft and I just happen to play basketball up until the point where it allowed me some potential avenues and opportunities". If he was motivated by basketball, he'd already be playing.

    He's a player.

He's not just playing the Rockets, but the whole NBA. They have the deeper pockets. He's trying to cash in.

I should point out White got a, I believe, 24 or 26 on his ACT. This would place him higher than at least 75% of college bound high school seniors.
    The guy is intelligent enough.
