when a player, like boki, finally settles down and begins to play well u dont throw him on the bench. this will get into his head and effect his play when he gets another chance. not to mention how well he has been rebounding and passing the ball. bowen is good energy guy off the bench who is effective in particular situations but boki should get in the game.

See i agree with a lot of points on this board. I mean the guy has a bad game and you bench him? Then you want him to build confidence right? how are players supposed to play well under the excessive pressure JVG puts on them.

Basically one mess up and your out until i say so. That's like a tyrant. I mean how is the guy supposed to learn anything and grow from it if he is always worried about making one mistake and being benched.

I understand sometimes you play the matchups that are on the floor and Bowen was playing better against Kobe, but that doesn't mean bench him for 2 games and let him see no minutes.

I am not saying this because it's Boki and we want to see him succeed and a lot of us think he was up until that game. The guy really showed he can come and shoot and start to play if given the regular minutes of a bench player.

I think any player in the NBA would not develop and have no confidence in their game if they got continuously knocked down in the depth charts, then moved up then knocked down again.

Sometimes you have to stick to the rotation you have and let them grind it out and become better and learn from mistakes.

WE are not a team that is going to content for a title so why not at least let our players gel and get better.

And you wonder why we have no chemistry when each week you have a different order of players coming off the bench that they have to adjust to.

If you don't stick to a rotation, how are the players going to develop that so called chemistry that is lacking.

we won't under the system of JVG.....he needs to learn that even if you are loosing you should stick by your team and let them grow....

hate to say it Jerry Sloan is that type of coach that let people develop and grow.

You can guarantee half those people on their roster would be riding the pine if they were here...yet over there they are given a chance to shine and get better through LEARNING

I feel bad for Boki. I think Boki's biggest hindrance is his confidence. Now when things are starting to look good for him he gets benched because of one bad game. JVG messed up this time! Bowen is a hustling matchup player with no shot who doesn't warrant cracking rotation. Dude's shooting at 36% and scoring 1.2 points in 9 MPG and he plays ahead of Boki? UNBELIEVABLE. I'm officially jumping off the JVG bandwagon. If no second round this year, go get someone else. The Rockets have the talent to make the playoffs every year, it's now time to maximize the coaching to win a ring.

    Free Boki!

Bowen is garbage which I've already explained.

    Wake up JVG.

Unfortunately, I can see Boki going somewhere else next year and having a great season, increasing his output drastically. Van Gundy will have turned him into an average defender, and he will start canning the 3s under a players coach that actually encourages the players offensively and removes their tendacy to be timid because they are scared they might make a turnover or miss a shot. Once he relaxes and just lets it rip, we will be wishing we had him back........................because he can shoot and he can slash...............given the confidence and the opportunity.

Boki should be assigned one task: getting the ball into Yao's hands.

He is one of the very best on the team at getting him the ball next to TMac.

That's possible, and the bad part is that Yao would want to follow Boki to wherever he goes........just watch, every team in the league is going to go after Boki, just to lure Yao out. :D

I cant see that happening. But I do believe that the Rockets should be willing to accomodate Yao and TMac and surround them with players that they like and that like them. When Boki is on the floor, he looks for Yao and gets Yao the ball. He is very good at getting Yao the ball from the left corner and then Yao operates and either gets a nice layup or 2 footer or he throws it back out to a wide open Boki in the corner for the 3 ball. Boki is also good at throwing the ball back in after initial entry to the post and Yao resetting. He does have good chemistry with Yao, for the life of me I dont understand why he isnt getting minutes. We aint playin Kobe every night.
