Simple. It's called defensive rotation. Also, the fact that Mobley isn't that good at passing to the open man, should help opposing defenses.

Stats are dangerous, he shot 1 for 5 which translates to 4 out of 22 over 48 mins.

Ming did affect the flow of the game in a positive way and any double team that a rookie in his first NBA game draws is a good sign. JWill, Gooden and Stoudamire:rolleyes: did not draw double teams in their first 13 minutes on an NBA court and they probably won't draw too many all season. If any of the Eastern Conference centers think they can handle Ming by themselves they are gonna find out really quick what the Ming Dynasty is all about.

Ming will be getting double teamed his entire career.:D :D :D

Yao Ming did a great job. He was always moving and not camped out under the basket. That'll help create ops for our guards. He as well as the rest of the rockets forwards need to be more agressive on the offensive boards. We aren't getting the second chance shots at all. But, for his first game against the Admiral, I must say that he did alright. He may not have had the blocks last night but he still alters shots and that's the main thing.

    :)

if you pass good enough a rotation defense wil not hold, 3 double teams is allot.i agree mobley isn't the best passer, but ming and francis are great passers.

it has been said a thousend times but i will say it again, with Ming and Griffin in the bucket,it will be very hard for the opponent to attack the basket.:D

When have we ever passed it well enough?

Simple fact is that last year and the year before, when teams would double Cat or Francis, it would take the Rockets 3-4 swing passes to get the ball to the open man who was open 5 seconds ago, but no longer...

To beat double teams you must be able to pass to the open man on just 1 pass, not 3-4 passes around the perimeter.

That is why it's so vital to have big men who can pass out of a double team. When I say that, I mean big men who can hit the open man immediately. That's what makes guarding Shaq so tough. 5-10 times a game, he will hit the open guy ASAP, for a dunk/layup or an open 3.

    i think so will Ming

i know you arn't verry pleased with Francis and mobley, but last year they had nobody to pas to,and francis didn't play that much. i'm not saying they will inmediatly pas great, but they will in time

I don't care if they didn't have anybody to pass to. I would have rather seen Walt shoot open 3s, than Mobley and Francis shooting 22 ft jumpers off the dribble with 2 seconds on the shot clock.

As for Ming, I sure hope he can locate the open man and execute a pass to the open man. I'm pretty confident he can do that. I'm just not confident in the passing awareness and skills of the other Rockets.

It's just preseason, and we already beat the Spurs once in preseason. What'd you expect? That's what refs do, and refs suck.

Let me borrow Charles Barkley's math when he first became a Rocket:

They are going to double team Francis.
They are going to double team Mobley.
Now, I'm pretty sure they are going to double team Yao.
    That's six guys there.:)

Hey Rocket Fans, I noticed on the Spurs Radio station website, that they think Yao has no skills, and will be another Shawn Bradley? I think the guy is wrong who said that. I think Yao is going to be a special player.

I recall Hakeem's first pro game. He was nervous, too.

i love yao ming, I think he will be great, but he has to learn how to set a pick. He's lucky they haven't called a moving pick violation on him everytime. He played good against the sixers
