Don't you think there can be hung up gay men/women who aren't comfortable trying to have sex with another gay man/woman (heck, trying to find a gay man or woman to have sex with), because they live in a small town and being "found out" might destroy a career and upset family members? Don't think it doesn't happen, even if we live in a society more tolerant than it used to be.

1. If you have had consensual gay sex you are gay.

I think the good minister's words were deplorable. Pretty sad many of us accept them, and even rationalize.

ANd in a race were each candidate tries to be more 'christian' then the next....gay issues will once again be ignored.

well as an obama supporter its disappointing. i don't think it matters in the long run because I firmly believe he doesn't stand by these statements. and I'm not going to judge his judgement because I'm fully aware he courted these ministers to get elected to office in the first place.

i'm more disappointed in the overal pulpit politics that infests alot of churches. the black church has been instrumental in organizing black people and that's a just and sound cause but anything beyond, comments on israel, gays, whatever really needs to be toned however.

however lets get one thing straight, most christian churches in this country are probably against homosexuality. so there is nothing special or out of the ordinary about this in the black church.

It is perfectly possible and reasonable to be gay AND a virgin. In fact, my brother is a gay virgin. He doesn't need to go have sex with some guy to "become" gay. I can't see how you can possibly believe that. That's completely ridiculous.
