Hmmm, I'd like to see you try it sometimes. Take a hammer and smash your elbow hard. Then you earn the right to tell us how real man can tolerate pain.
I feel like im surrounded by fobs who are just learning about basketball because of their hero yao ming.
You should be thankful that you were born here or came here before other asian people who were lucky enough to be here but that doesn't make you any better by dissing other asian who came here after you my friend.
Wow great racist comment.... um, I went to only one Houston home game providing that I'm a poor high school kid. It was the game after Chinese New Year so there were a lot of Asians. However it didn't really affect the degree of the enjoyment of the game once I got into it. Yao attracts people who love him despite knowing little about basketball. That shows how great he is. He is this popular for a reason. My take on Yao......give him 3 years and he'll be unstoppable. Right now he needs to get out of double teams and stop knocking the ball by his knees:-D It still pretty tight to see him grab rebounds using one hand like a golfball. He's a gift.
Please discontinue posting until you learn to convey your ideas in an intelligent fashion. You’re just making yourself look like an immature fool when you are telling people to get of Yao’s nuts or calling other posters FOBs. If you went back to Asia, wouldn’t the term FOB, or more likely fresh off the airplane, apply to you? As for Yao getting dunked on, yes I wish he would just foul someone hard to the floor, but I don’t think it is in his nature yet. I don’t know if hard fouls is apart of Chinese basketball, but I do admire his attempts to cleanfully block dunks. More than I can say for Webber’s “standing right next to the basket as he sees Francis soar for a dunk after a Yao pass in the 4th quarter as the Rockets close on the King’s lead” attempt.
Yao hurted his right arm after the first quarter in that game. He cannt rise his right arm at the next morning.
this is definitely not an anti-Yao post/thread...... you're merely offering your good advice to Yao, and how he should be more effective an offensive weapon...... and not whining about why he hasn't metamorphisized into a bball god or why his fans can't be Rox fans if they're Yao-first fans, bandwagon accusations, blah, blah ........ but I know many times where Yao could've dunked, and instead, opted for a non-dunk shot (for a greater possibility of missing it). in one shining moment in Vlade Divacs game agianst Yao last night, Vlade actually altered Ming's dunk attempt, and Ming changed his dunt attempt into a layup which missed.... Ming recovered the OFF-RB, and tried another shot.... a jumper..... which missed again with a feverish defensive pressure put on him by Vlade...... but Yao actually scored it on the 3rd attempt , but not a dunk . maybe Yao has some kinda Chinese "etiquette" still in his playing style from his Chinese Basketball Association.... which is to NOT dunk on your opponents, because it's rude/impolite.... my guess. my advice to Yao. Dunk that $hit on them.... 'cuz they'll dunk that $hit on you! Just like Yao's answer to Kobe's dunk on him their last meeting at the Staples Center Yao can look at his 33%FG perfromance vs the Kings, and feel the weight of that 1 point loss on his shoulders... I'm sure any Rox player would languish at the thought of loosing by 1 point, and then ask themselves "dang! if i'd not missed that one FG-A, or free throw.......... ". but there's no such thing as "IF" in history..... Posey totally put his dismal 1-7FG performance vs the Kings behind him, and shot like alomost 90% (8-9FG!) for a key 23 point performance that ended the Clipper control over the Rox just a few hours ago. I guess Yao need all batteries as fully charged as possible for Wednesday's brawl against Playoff caboose-mates Lakers... unfortunately for those fans with the duality of being Clippers fans and Yao fans, and who wanted to see Yao soar, this was another low night for Yao, as he played only 20 minutes... no IFs. next up, Lakers. Bring it on over Shaq and Kobe!!!
I haven't taken the time to read the other posts, but you call this an anti-Ming thread? You basically just said that this guy is going to be great as soon as he takes initiative and everyone else sucks. This may be dumbing it down too much, but you get the point. What is your point?
don, my point is this: for yao to not be a wuss. when yao blocks somebody's shot, i want to see him do the "mutombo finger waving thingee". when somebody dunks on him on one play and that same player tries to do it again, i want him to lay them on their buttocks. when he has the ball .0312 inches from the basket, i want him to slam it down with authority instead of opting for a "pretty" reverse layup. instead of sending shaq a christmas card, i want to see him deface the game ball when shaq scores his 25,000th point. do you remember when charles oakley knocked barkley down on his side when he went for a shot. barkley went after his butt in a hurry! i think it's going to take something like that happening to yao before he'll finally realize that nice guys finish last.
You make some excellent points. Yao needs to get much more aggressive in all aspects... from the way in which he demands the ball from teammates to the way he attacks the rim to the way he goes after rebounds!! Part of his lack of aggressiveness, I believe, is his status as a rookie. I don't think he wants to rock the boat too much. I'm hoping for much better, more dominant things to come from young Yao next season and (hopefully) the upcoming playoffs. The one thing I'd like to see more of... the boom-boom-boom throw down we saw on Theo and Big Ben!! Damn, if he can do it on those guys he can do it on just about anyone in the L!!
i think that Yao is coming along just fine. I think we maybe being a little impatient in expecting him to be a veteran RIGHT NOW. I did not expect him to come as far as he has already. With everything he has to learn this year outside of the basketball court and all the adjustments he has had to make to live here, I am truly amazed at the impact he has at this point. And when I think about what he will be like next year with some more upper body strength..... I cringe
do do :- You are Asian but are you an Oriental Asian? If you are, you should be ashamed at causing all this stimulation and upset among the Yao Ming Fans.(Ha Ha). Do you get to see many of the Games? If not I can give you my summary/ analysis which is quite a different point of view seen here.I also record the Rockets Games.
O/S:- Please leave Yao Ming alone! Let him develop without all your STREET TRAPPINGS. All the things you suggest for him to do, is what is wrong with Basketball! Yao Ming is the new breed of player!
Yao needs to be more agressive! Excellent point! Wow you guys are geniuses. Heck let me try some too: 1. Yao needs to put on some more muscle mass 2. Eddy Griffin needs to bulk up and stop taking line drive 3s 3. The Rockets need to win at least 6 more games to make the playoffs 4. Francis needs to be more consistent and smarter. Great point! The summary of this thread is that Bobododo is simply Jealous of Yao Ming (evident in one of his posts) and seeking for attention badly. Get a girl friend, dog or something.
see the point now? the passive and nice crap doesn't work, eh? nothing but fadeaways. nothing to the rim. even worse, i've seen something i've never seen yao do before. instead of challenging a couple of kobe's dunks... he stood there... and watched? c'mon yao... it's not like he could have embarassed you. shaq dunked on you and embarassed your buttocks the whole game on national television. yao needs to knock kobe to the ground the next time he tries that garbage. did you see cato when he knocked him flat on his back? the floor actually rattled. i seriously see this game effecting yao's play negatively for the rest of the season. i hope not. i really thought that he wouldn't come back to the game after getting a "boo boo" on his chin. sigh... okay, omegasupreme. chill out... he's just a rookie. sigh.
I guess im not the only seeking attention now since after these past two games a lot of fans seems to be saying the same things I've been saying for awhile now. Yes I'm jealous of Yao. Im jealous of every basketball player because they make more money then me and get to play the game I love the most. You, and the rest of your asian posse, just need to realize take off those Yao-"superstar" glasses and realize that he's not even near that level yet. Talking about me getting a gf, dog, or something but if i remebered correctly you're the wussy that was crying over rockets loss and yelling at you're family and all.
er.... I dun think it is a good thing to accuse all the asian like this.... I am asian myself and if ever read my post, I am not a Yao-superstar supporter.... I look at how they play and stuff, and I am with u that Yao Ming is indeed too soft..... Yetti, Yao Ming is a new breed of player, playing basketball the old school way, but it does not work here in the NBA now!!!! he will get abused by those POWER player.... and it shows in this 2 games.... wake up Yetti!!!
