Clonaid Official Says 2nd Cloned Human On Way Experts Express Skepticism After Announcement Posted: 6:53 p.m. EST January 2, 2003 PARIS -- The people who announced last week that they'd created the world's first cloned human may be getting ready to announce they've created the second. The woman who made the announcement in Florida last week -- Brigitte Boisselier -- tells French television that a second cloned baby will be born somewhere in Europe in the next few days. She won't say exactly where. So far, her company -- Clonaid -- hasn't offered any proof of the first cloned child. Boisselier says DNA tests haven't yet been conducted on that child -- and it'll be up to the parents to decide if there will be tests at all. Many experts are expressing skepticism. Clonaid is linked to a religious sect that believes space aliens created life on Earth.
Grizzled, you may be on to something there... Parents of cloned baby question whether to allow DNA testing, Clonaid says If it is somehow proven to be a publicity stunt, could the law shut the Clonaid folks down? At any rate, I'm hoping that they were lying all along.
