With the 28th pick of the NBA draft the LA Lakers select Nenad Krstic the heir to Shaq when his big toe forces him into retirement. In a few Years the big two in LA will be Kobe and Krstic.
And that's it for the first round of the mock draft. Since some want the second round and some don't, email me at SlamDuncan2121@aol.com if you are still interested in picking up the remaining players. Make a list of all the players you want, in order, and put your team name with it. You can have no more than your number of picks in the round, though your list can obviously be greater. Priority will be given by the order of the picks. The deadline for me to receive these email entries is 6 pm Thursday.
Hey Cat, are we still going to do the sim of the first season to see where every team ended up? I've been working on a patch for NBA Live 2001 including all current transactions and rookies (plus player updates) and only have 3 teams to go before it's completed. If you wanna go through with it, I'd be happy to send along the roster files once I'm finished.
mfclark: I'm using the Playstation 2 version of NBA Live 2002, and not the PC, so I doubt that would work. Plus, the 2002 version of the game gives the ROY, all-rookie teams, etc. which Live 2001 did not do, at least not on the playstation. I have all the rookies created and on teams, but there are a few teams left that I need to finish their complete (updated) rosters. I plan on simming this Monday or Tuesday, but if you are nearly finished, we might could both post some of the interesting results. It'll be interesting to see how Yao Ming changes on a Rockets fan's version of the game to a Magic fan's version.
That's cool. The PC version of Live 2001 is about equal to the console versions of Live 2002, so it's got the Rookie of the Year, franchise, and all-rookie teams (and the rest of the awards as well). I finished my rosters in one fell swoop tonight and, well, let's just say I haven't seen Yao NOT win ROY in any of the sims I've done. I ended up with most rookie ratings between 70 and 73 (with 2nd rounders between 68 and 70, at least the few I included based on projected players who will and won't make the cut) and then took a special editer and fixed the potential ratings as most scouts see them. I can't remember the one sim I did with all of the rookies in, but I remember Frank Williams and Ming made the all-rookie team. I think DaJuan Wagner was the SG and Caron Butler the SF. Can't recall the PF off-hand, though. I'll probably do some more sims to get a better feel for player progression, but it'd be interesting to see how all the results correlate.
