HA! I got a  out of you. See, if you actually lived in Houston, you could be a season ticket-holder like many of us and watch Lin every home game. And you could root for him as loud as us....and you could feel what it is like to be a Rockets fan. And we could meet on the concourse and chest bump each other when Lin has a big game and we win!! You would laugh at me for still wearing my authentic Head jersey and I will laugh at you for wearing a knock-off Knicks Lin jersey. Then, later in the year, we would get a Luxury Box with 20 other CF.net fans here and bask in the glow of the huge new scoreboard and shade ourselves underneath our championship banners. Rockets Power Dancer will come to our suite to refill our salsa and say Hi to Kam and Dave2000 (they rule here, btw). And Clutch will take us down to meet Lin. Then you would know what is really fun, and realize the ASG is a big tease and rather boring...especially when the best players don't start. it is soooo great to be a Rockets Fan. We have Lin and we get to watch him live more than any other fans. We don't really need to see him at the ASG for 5 minutes of token play.
I think Jeremy is not getting so many votes from China honestly... I think most of his votes come from fans in USA and Taiwan. But I am sure there is a silent "minority" of people "around the world" like me (Italian, 34 y.o., never cared about Basketball all my life) who got hooked during Linsanity. And we also silently vote^^
Yup, so you need to go vote for the players you like. I vote for all 4 Rockets because I like to support players I watch all the time. There's no issue here unless you make it one. If Lin beats out CP3, then there are more people who want to see him start in the ASG than people who want to see CP3 start. You can't say your popular vote is more important than theirs can you?
I didn't say that. I made rhetorical statements. They weren't even questions....they are comments about how the NBA fans think. They want to see the best players start. I could care less. Stop being so defensive of Lin...and way over sensitive. Vote for who you want. It's just a boring ASG. Do you actually watch that crap? I honestly have not watched an ASG game since Michael Jordan's first one. I'm sure glad he didn't get out voted by China ... though. haha y'all seriously need to stop overreacting and take a chill pill. This BBS will be the death of you.
Haha...nah...not as defensive as you think. Just fandom talking, and trying to comprehend the mindset of people on this board. And yes, I do watch the ASG.
Nah, I wasn't trying to be cute. I've never watched one. I thought they had a dunk contest and 3pt contest and that's all. I have virtually zero interest in the All-Star game to be honest. I have never voted either except this year I voted for Omer and Tim Duncan. It's pretty ridiculous that Dwight will start, and dude is a coach killing assclown supposed born-again Christian with 10 babymamas who can't do his free throws. I think that's more ridiculous than the chance Lin might start (which he won't), considering Linsanity was pretty great and Jeremy is a high character guy. But whatever, popularity contest is po
Excellent post. It's crazy how some people hate Lin so much they can't see through their own bias. I'm glad we're finally being recognized. It was a sad few years but now it seems like things are getting better. It's funny how bitter some people are, trying to root against their own team.
What do you mean deserve? I like the guys and I vote for them. And that's the out come. Simple as that. Yeah, all stars are popularity contest/show off. If you say all satrs should be picked based on numbers then you should ask Mr Stern to let Hollinger to crank his numbers and give out a list instead of letting fans to vote. Everybody knows fans cannot be more "baised".
You know how I know you guy is bunch of nerds??? You care who gets voted in an All-Star game or not???
Lin Allstar??? If Jeremy Lin goes to the Allstar game I believe the voting system will lose all credibility. I dont think he will make it though because I know the starters are voted in by fans and reserves by coaches. Its ridiculous to see that he is 3rd in the west backcourt.
I do 't mind Lin as a starter for the all star game, its a big FU to the league and the big market teams and marquee superstars, plus its post modern theory at its best
