This is the one year you should want Lin and Harden on the allstar team together, Why?

Both can recruit other Allstars to join them both in Houston next year

(Ex. Love , Howard , Aldridge)

    Which skills? 3pt contest? Lol

Maybe you're right. He won't start but they will find a way to involve him as he is so popular.

So in this thread we have a LOF comparing Lin to a cancer survivor and relating it to the All Star ballot?

Yao was not only Chinese, but Yao was the main guy for the national team. Yi Jianlian also had his time in the CBA and national team, but Lin being "Taiwanese" wouldn't really hurt him since he doesn't even address the media saying "I'm Taiwanese NOT CHINESE!". He's not Jet Chang, he's more American than anything.

The votes so far for Lin could be a combination of China votes, Taiwan votes, and USA.

But it's still early, Yi Jianlian in 2009 got 3rd behind KG for most of the time as well.

Question: Have you ever watched the games? This is actually a serious question. Cause if you haven't there is a skills competition that involves FT shooting, layups, passing etc. And then there is a separate 3 point shooting contest.

If you have watched the games & was just trying to be clever then just ignore the above.

I knew from a while that he wasn't going to be a participant in the East vs West games but that they would likely involve him somehow. The skills competition is probably where they would put him. He is popular & the games are in Houston so he will be there. Harden is definitely going to be a reserve. But please everybody keep overreacting to something that will not happen.

    My two cents.

Actually, on TNT tonight after the games they posted the all-star voting.

Ernie said "Lin has more votes than Harden"

You know what Kenny Smith's response was?

Kenny "That's carry-over from last year."

Doesn't sound like "media nonsense" to me. Stop overreacting, roxxy. Kenny's comment was perfectly fine.

Time for me to hit up all my co-workers who don't follow the NBA to vote for Lin. Hopefully I can get maybe 20 of them to vote every day. :) :) :)

News to me that I was overreacting. I don't watch TV so I wouldn't know what was said. And I mean't media nonsense in response to the multiplicity off articles written about this very issue & the twitter reaction that occurred.

But lets say it isn't media nonsense my point still stands. Take a chill pill & stop overreacting to something that will not happen.

    Just a thought.

You are trying way too hard to make us believe that you are the one not overreacting.

Take your own advice and take a chill pill, dude. Does it really matter to you what other people think?

Stop it guys, if Lin gets enough votes to start he's definitely worthly of being in the game. I'm voting Lin in as I know having Harden has skewed his stats to a good extent, not to mention some odd coaching behaviors. Does he deserve it....hard to say but he can definitely hang with the best. Also, be glad Harden is even getting that much love....there's a good chance a lot of people voting for Lin are wholesaling the whole group as well. Harden, if he keeps his pace, will most likely be a reserver so Houston will be accounted for this year. Be proud and vote the whole slate!

But what if we actually want to see Chris Paul start, like he should? Did you ever think about that? That many of us here want to see the best players actually start, so we vote that way?

Isn't the entire point of this board to have a conversation. No it doesn't matter what people think. But this board is to converse. My apologies for conversing to much for your liking.

And once again news to me that I am overreacting. But since you can read peoples minds I have student loans to pay & I could really use your help in writing this scholarship application. Please tell me what does the ideal applicant look like?

    Just a thought.

    Excuse me?

You were the first one to read people's minds and say they are overreacting, and you say that in nearly every thread. But you can't understand when other people say you are overreacting.

    That's so special of you.

If you can't allow someone saying you are overreacting (which you are), then stop saying other people are. It is that simple.

We have a saying in America: "Don't dish it out, if you can't take it." That is you.

Then simple....vote for the player you think is best. Otherwise, if we have to go strictly with numbers...that's also very easy to do but that's not how the All-Stars is run. Until then I'm voting for the one of few players I want to see.....not necessary the player with the best stats.

    Okay

I am just going to end this now this is going nowhere.

My apologies for accusing you of overreacting or anybody else that will be frustrated by my post. Hopefully Lin doesn't make the games, will likely happen. And Harden is a reserve will also likely happen. Also hopefully CP3 gets the starting nod, will also likely happen.

I don't care whether Lin is in the games or not as long as one Rocket is there, most likely Harden. This way we both get what we want. You get to see CP3 or somebody else more deserving on Sunday Night & I get to see at least one Rocket representing the team. Win win for the two of us & everybody else that advocates all stars getting in based on merit & the others who just want Houston be represented passionately by somebody on the team.

I am just going to be the bigger person otherwise we will both be going in circles. Thank you for the conversation it was very diverting. And once again my apologies for accusing you of a sentiment (overreacting) that you are clearly not feeling right now.

    Peace.
