Whereas when Lin gets the whistle you know he just got walloped. It's hard to be annoyed at a foul being called when the guy is bleeding.

Why do people care so much? It's a popularity vote.

Put Lin in the weak ass East and he'd probably be an all star this year.

More upset by the lack of votes Parsons has. The organization & Fegan has to do a better job of marketing him.

Kobe at #1 is ridiculous. It would have been funny if ASW was last week.

    Parker only at #7 *SMH*

Nash certainly got a few votes from retirees in retirement villages...

James is never going to start the All Star game till Kobe retires. That's just horrible. They should really fix that. I get letting the fans pick their favorite players but damn.

Getting fans involved is smart to keep fans to stay fans of the NBA. Stern is interested in growing the fan base and $, he's not interested in pleasing the purists. Giving people who they want to watch, not telling them who they should watch, that's good marketing.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the numbers until individual numbers are in the 7 digits.

    Vote for your Houston All-Stars

    http://allstarballot.nba.com/

First results are in and were doing decent but I think James harden needs a lot more votes. He's 5th in back coart with Jeremy 4th. Dwight is 2nd in front coart. Parsons is 11th I beleive. With only 77 thousands votes. I think we can do alot better. Keep voting

I'm not sure which of these three things are the most ridiculous:

    - Kobe getting the most votes out of the West backcourt
    - Lin getting about 60,000 more votes than Harden
    - The OP messing up the grammar on the thread title.

Yet no one complained when Yao was getting voted in over a prime Shaq, or how Steve Francis, even Cuttino Mobley was getting a ton of votes just because they were on the same team with Yao.

The crappy thing about Kobe running away with the fan vote is that 2 months from now when the game is actually happening, he'll have games under his belt and no one will mind, even though it's still beyond absurd that he locked up the spot before playing a game.
