Al right so I'm going to break this down for everybody. Its obvious that the NBA does not want Marbury in the game so they have hid his votes or made them non apparent. I am absolutely and entirely 100% positive about this and I'll explain why. luke ridnour All those who voted for marbury were encouraged to vote for ridnour so that the votes wouldn't go to another top tier guard, hindering his chances of playing. You can't have one without the other and this is clear evidence for why Ridnour is way ahead of guards such as rose and Joe Johnson. Another reason for my increased loathing towards thats bast... err commissioner stern
god, tracy doesn't deserve to be on the ballot right now. i don't thik he'll beat out chris paul. and the coaches won't vote him in, which is good. you don't go unless you deserve to go.
Yao will probably be a lifetime nominee for center in the West, not because he gets all the votes from CHina.... The Center position sucks.....royally. If you look at the list, he is the only one putting up all-star numbers. If Shaq wasn't there, then there would be a chance for that candidate for the worst all-star center of all time could start in the West. The other sad part about this is that Shaq is nearing 40 and he's still better 99% of the other centers, as number are very much below his career averages.
umm, a lot of it has to be from china and chinese fans around the world. how do you explain yi 3rd on the list? it also helps the center position sucks. but if hakeem plays in his prime, yao would still beat him for the center position.
Maybe, but Yao is winning, because he has no competition, Hakeem is retired and has been for good number of years, like many other great centers from the 80s and 90s. They are somewhat irrelevant to the active all-star voting. But, I don't think Yao would beat out the likes David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Olajuwon, and Mutombo. He has no true challengers in the West, who are people going to vote for Marcus Camby, Chris Kaman, Andrew Bynum, Andris Beidrins, and Memhet Okur. It's a no-brainer. That's the best competition he's faced in his career at the position. Also, in 2004, Yao Ming, not only defeated Shaq, in total votes, he also won in the US and Canadian paper ballots. He's very well-liked player outside of China and he is a top 2 center in the league, I don't know why people aren't taking into consideration.
Why not? It's the fans votes and who they want to see. So stop with all the b****ing on here. Who the hell watches the All-Star game anyway?
T-Mac is superstar, like Grant Hill and Vince Carter, so he will almost always get alot of votes. Scola is actually deserving, especially when his numbers are similar to Andrew Bynum's (in certain areas), while he's only few votes ahead of Odom.
Hows the selection process goes this year? top 2 fwd, top 2 guards and top center on the ballots, and 5/7 coach choice?
I know he's not a Rocket, but I really think that Devin Harris deserves a spot on the All-Star team this year so far by the way he's playing. I'm also glad to see Tracy and Yao up there. I think if Tracy wants to end up on the team he needs to come back soon and perform like the All-Star that he is.
This year I always picked a full Rockets line-up as the West all stars against whoever I happened to click on at the East side. And every time when the Rockets win a game, I vote once, till the voting is closed. Why? I only care the Rockets.
I'm not surprised at all. All star voting is all about the fan base. You get more votes if you get more love from the fans. Simple as that.
the Starbury Campaign is a failure. lol at everyone thinking they were making a difference voting for him.
