We def need to upgrade the PG position, hopefully with Bibby and we also need an upgrade for the PF position....

I really think we have a chance to be a better team next year

If Mike James was coming off the bench, the Rockets are playing San Antonio right now.

    Yeah, I really believe that.

    All I remember is Preseason

T-Mac said Novak was the best shooter he'd ever seen
Yao said V-Span was like Nash
    JL3 played and scored
We played our starters and our bench and blew away the other teams.

    Novak averaged 17 ppg
    JL3 was erratic
V-Span passed very well, penetrated but turned the ball over. In the course of the season, V-Span said yes he made a few mistakes but how is he going to learn if he doens't play? I believe he could have overcome the turnovers.

By the way, what happened to that superior offensive preseason team that blew away all our rivals?

Maybe they started playing real games against real starters rather than having half the game vs bench players who aren't even in the league after preseason?

Here's my prediction. Adelman has got to produce. If he doesn't I look to Alexander to be like George Steinbrenner with his Manager Billy Martin. How many times did Steinbrenner fire Billy Martin? LOL Same goes here. Especially if Van Gundy stays in town. He'll have Van Gundy back so fast if Adelman doesn't make it into the playoffs it'll make your head spin.

Les Alexander = George Steinbrenner. The cheap version who doesn't want to pay any money for players.

Van Gundy will never be back with Houston again IMHO. The only way it happens if Les sells the team and even then it's a long shot. As far as Les being a cheap A$$. I agree especially in light of the Rockets being one of the most profitable teams in the league.

easier to blame a coach than admit your franchise players may not be good enough

I agree that had something to do with it......you have to send a message to the players somehow.....

i can understand that. I dont agree, but i can understand that.

putting blame in its due place doesnt mean shaking up the team. But who says a shakeup means regression?

but you don't do that by firing the best available coach out there....going to rick Adelman is not an upgrade...a lateral movement at best...so you sacrifice a good coach to make a point?
what if that point doesn't work?

when ARE THE PLAYERS going to get the blame for the game 7 loss...I know some blame has been put on them but the majority of it has been on JVG..he deseves some of it but i think most of it should fall on the players...
    did jvg:

    1. miss wide open shots in the last 5 mins?
    2. did he tell Tmac to go into hiding and become a non factor (he always tells TMAC to take the ball and make the best decision possible)
    3. did he tell his players to get OUTHUSTLED for thos offensive rebounds in the last couple of minutes.
    4. Did he tell Battier and TMAC to not foul and still have a chance?
    5. Did he tell Luther and Juwan to become total non factors in this series?

a coach can only take so much of the credit (i.e Phil Jackson) and should not take as much blame as the get (i.e. JVG)...when it comes down to it, its the players who are expected to make the plays...not the coach

No the message the players got from this episode is that they are blameless and it was the coach's fault they didn't or couldn't play better and win. It was JVG's failures as a head coach (emphasis on defense, one-dimensional offense, inability to "develop" the guys sitting at the end of the bench, etc.) that cost them their opportunity to advance in the playoffs. Not to worry because that won't be a problem under Adelman.

Lot of unproven untested players on the Rockets bench. They were good enough to get here, lets play em and see what they are made of. Ya think Fabio liked sitting on the bench? He got his chance later in the season and look what kinda player he turned out to be.
