Ok, am I the only person here whose Firefox 3 is crashing multiple times per day? I'm reinstalling firefox 2 as we speak. I've had enough.
Mozilla FireFox blows. and it blows hard. I'd rather take my chances with IE. If you guys want a premium web browser use Opera. Bar none, the finest browser.
Can several of you tell me, without reservation, that Firefox 3 is totally great and there is no reason at all to stick with Firefox 2 out of caution?
I will say without reservation that it has been awesome for me. I already posted this earlier. I have a laptop that is over six years old and has a hard time with rich content websites. FF3 has given my comp a new lease on life. All flash objects, games, youtube, whatever, perform waaay better. Web 2.0 stuff like gmail is twice as fast. No reliability issues, zero crashes. YMMV.
I haven't noticed much of a performance increase in 3 versus 2. I don't like the fact that many of the plugins that worked in 2 no longer work in 3, but I would think that will improve in time.
My faulty memory bit me. I've downloaded FF3 but now I remember why I didn't do it sooner: The "Awesome Bar". When I read about this feature, it killed my enthusiasm for FF3. Is there a way to make the address bar behave like in FF2? It's incredibly stupid for bookmarks I haven't used in ages to randomly appear there. What I want to do is type in 6 or 7 addresses and only those should appear in the address bar when I click the triangle to the right of it. Plus, if I delete history, it should delete everything in the address bar. Can someone tell me how to get my old address bar back? I'm ticked off at Mozilla for making this change.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6227 or The hard way would be to type about:config into the address bar, and type this into the filter box (or scroll down to look for it) browser.urlbar.maxRichResults . Set the value of that to be “0″ and then restart Firefox.
Is there anything special you have to do with it other than click 'turbo' and hang on for massive increase in speed?
This one prevents the annoying bookmark thing https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7429 edit: I dunno on 2nd thought, not working like I expected
