So McDaniels turned down the Texans. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team basically forfeit the season two years in a row smh.
They didn't forfeit this season. They were just as bad as last season. This is year 1 of a rebuild. Next year will be the 2nd year and I dont expect more than 6-7 wins next year regardless of who the HC is. Now in 2024 I expect a young and upcoming contender.

Sources say Culley has the building's respect as a person, and it would've been difficult for any coach to win big in his position. But some players have grown frustrated with some in-game decisions and communication issues, and multiple key veterans have been released or disciplined during the season. If Culley is retained, he'll need to address those issues and will likely make changes to his staff, per sources. In his public comments, Caserio has consistently said all evaluations will come after the season. The expectation is the Texans decision-makers will meet and take their time before deciding how to proceed. Is Culley part of the vision for the Texans' future? If not, there's a case for moving on and bringing in the next coach now, so that person can have input as the Texans continue reshaping the roster -- with potentially unprecedented assets once an anticipated Watson deal is complete.
[Aaron Wilson] Josh McDaniels 'Top Candidate' in Houston if Texans Fire David Culley HOUSTON - The Houston Texans are expected to conduct a thorough evaluation of first-year head coach David Culley and the coaching staff to determine their respective statuses following the AFC South franchise's season finale Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly. The detailed review is expected to take into account everything about Culley and the coaches' performance and how they operated in a difficult rebuilding situation with an overhauled roster. According to a league source, if Houston fires Culley then New England Patriots' offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels could emerge as a top potential candidate to be the team's next head coach. McDaniels, if he decides to leave New England, could be a strong head coaching candidate for multiple potential vacancies based on his track record and his success developing Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones.
LFG!!!! Fire Culley the Texans gave him a chance and opportunity to live his life long dream of being a HC when not other team even made him a coordinator. Time for Josh McDaniels And anybody who doesn’t want him as HC is nuts
lol nobody expected the texans to turn it around in one season. impossible with the way ob left the team. plus we need to suck next season too because thats a better draft class. so i'm ok with bringing back culley unless the guy they want is available now
