Then blame Tilman if you feel like the Rockets aren't putting enough resources towards improving.

Hiding behind the "fan card" is just a security blanket that doesn't actually protect you from how franchises operate and how hard it is to actually compete (aka reality).

No it doesnt I literally said Tillman may have gave him the win now directive but going about that is the GM's job. Now youre relying on strawman arguments. What is it with fanboys on this forum. Just post the proof of what youre saying and it would be over. Im not beyond changing my mind with new information. If you have some I would agree with you. Im not some Stone hater. I dont hate the man personally but looking at what he's done as a GM I think he should be fired. He has made some stupid decisions and I think its better if we move on.

LOL. What can I say.... still crying about KPJ, Dipo, and Woods in 2026 just tells me that particular poster is a bit too emotional to talk about the Rockets. Hating Stone is your security blanket so you don't have to deal with reality.

    This is literally me:

Those are things he did. We are looking at the totality of his work. Im not seeing how looking at his work is emotional but you attacking everyone somehow isnt.

You think when given a direction... Stone gets to ultimately make decisions involving who to sign? Did you think Morey had the same ability with Les?

Literally every GM makes a bunch of mistakes, so you are saying the KPJ/Dipo/Wood year prevented us from what exactly?

    Landing Cunningham or Wemby? What?

An NBA General Manager (GM) is the chief architect of the team's on-court product, responsible for constructing the roster, managing the salary cap, and hiring the coaching staff. They dictate the franchise's long-term competitive vision.
That's the literal definition of a GM. Again if you have proof that he doesnt have GM powers as a GM show it.

There is no use of having a GM if he can’t make decisions. I think more than likely he is a bit of a p***y and won’t stand up to Ime. If Fertita won’t hire a GM and stay out of the basketball operations, this team will never get it right.

An NBA owner (officially referred to as a Governor) is responsible for financing their franchise, overseeing its general business operations, and representing the team on the NBA Board of Governors. While some owners are deeply hands-on, most delegate daily basketball operations to General Managers (GMs) and coaching staffs.

If you have some proof that shows Stone believed that Woods and Dipo were long term Rocket moves then show it.

But you are whining about KPJ, Dipo, and Wood..... why? What does it matter when you know even the best GMs like Presti make many mistakes?

Way too much personification going on. Multiple things can be true:
    • Stone is an above average GM. We have mostly made sharper moves than most of the league.
    • We are in a strong position asset wise.
    • We've had a fair amount of bad luck, and little good luck.
    • This era of Rockets basketball has failed to produce any tangible success. It will most likely fail again next season.
    • In the NBA, eras that sum up to three straight first round exits typically result in the team/coaching staff/FO getting turned over.
    • Good GM's and coaches get fired all the time. Just part of the cycle.

I think you're trying to piss me off so that we can sling mud and not have a real discussion because your point is paper thin. You didn't even know what a gms duties are and finally you don't want to compare stone to sam presti trust me that would be a huge mistake. You're the only one here being whiny and emotional clearly it's projecting. You're also very insecure which is why you're so defensive. It's because you know some posts here are right. If stone is such a pushover why would I want him here? Even more reason he should be gone.
