Tired of the complaining about Silas. He is one of the best young coaches in the NBA. Please don’t just judge a coach on his record. Without Silas we’d never have found the gem we’ve unlocked in Nix. Credit where credit is due.
Merited or not, it is starting to feel like Silas is to the Rockets what Bo Porter was to the Astros in 2013-14. Honestly, I want to win and get Wemby both!
If you had to choose a replacement, outside of the coaches on the current roster, is there someone you'd like to see? I would love to get Chris Quinn from Miami. His time under Spo and watching the offense evolve would be a hugh addition to this team and our young players. He also fits the mold of young coach who understands this generation more.
Funny you say that, when Kerr came in the first season they became NBA Champs. The year before that, under Marc Jackson, they lost in the first round of the playoffs. Answer: Yes, coaching matters, a lot.
Considering MDA was 80 when he was coaching on the Rox and Silas is in his 3rd year on the driver's seat yeah he is a young coach.
Steph and co growing a year older and better has nothing to do with their performance? How come Spurs suck when they have Popovich aka the GOAT coach? Coaching matters more when you are already a good team and need that edge to be a great team. If you are a team that is young and inexperienced there's nothing a coach can do to make you good cuz the team is too young to implement his plans and strats. Silas is doing a good job rn which is develop our young guys. Once the tanking stops thats when you start judging Silas on his coaching skills.
Silas is a developmental coach, not a winning games coach. His job is to help guys like Green, Sengun, Jabari improve their games, like he did with Luka and Steph. He isn't good at actually winning games.
I would cry for a chance to see a young and hungry head coach with these young and hungry houston rockets. IDC that we're losing. Silas is genuinely terrible.
