Yeah, he won't be returning next year. My prediction. Miami fires Mcdaniels. He becomes the Texans OC in 26' Texans get a lot better. CJ magically good again. Demeco is going to get one more shot at this. Caserio will also get the pink slip this offseason.
So why did they start Laiken Tomlinson and disrupt what worked the last 2 weeks? And Jaylin Noel was making big plays when he was thrown the ball but still wasn't in the game most of the time. And Dare Oguinobwle was out there on a crucial third down for some reason and dropped the ball. It's like everything they learned during the 2 game fluke win streak went down the toilet and was forgotten over the bye-week. I assume that is all Caley?
I think you're probably right. Except I hope they don't run out of time with CJ and he gets frustrated and forces his way out. This feels like the 2010 season. Kubiak/Rick Smith hired two straight first time DCs, then finally got it right after that 6-10 year by hiring Wade Phillips along with fixing the secondary. Mcdaniels, Mccarthy, or Stefanski needs to come be our Wade Phillips and we need to fix the o-line for them. Get Caserio the f*** out of here and stop hiring former New England guys.
I don’t watch or follow the Patriots much but Josh McDaniels has managed to successfully install the Patruits offense with a second year qb. How has Caley had less success with supposedly better parts?
Here's an article that looks at some potential candidates... https://www.si.com/nfl/future-nfl-general-managers-list-candidates-2025-offseason-beyond A guy I've been intrigued by is Ed Dodds, he's widely respected as one of the best talent evaluators in the league and has interviewed for GM jobs last year. He's a Native Texan, something that appeals to me (I'm tired of northeasterners) and he's a Super Bowl champion. https://www.chargers.com/news/los-angeles-chargers-general-manager-search-ed-dodds-5-things EDIT: Crap meant to put this in Caserio thread.
\ Josh Mcdaniels knows how to call games and build an offense against an opponents weakness. Caley didn't game plan to Seattles weaknesses. He literally planned a traditional offense with an idea that they might be able to bully the Seahawks defensive line. Just like Seattle threw a curveball at Houston by blitzing heavy on third down. Houston should have came out with a misdirection heavy offense focused on RPO's, naked boots, and outside runs that expose Seattles over aggressive interior. Caley bet on his guys to win one on one battles against a far superior defensive line physically with a bunch of misfit toys from other organizations. This isn't a game plan offense. It may have a plan, but its a ****ing dumb one. Still pissed about this team.
Caserio should have been fired the first time the day he hired David Culley. The second time would have been when he hired Lovie Smith. I almost forgot those two coached this team.
Same lol. He's def been untouchable with the McNair's. I feel like he feeds them BS and they just buy into this; he was with the patriots before so he can figure it out.
Dude I would love that so much McDaniel ain’t a HC but that’s the perfect OC for the situation. Please make it happen
At one point, neither did McVay or Andy Reid etc etc etc. but agreed it was a weird decision to go with a rookie playcaller in this situation
The best situation is the same one you will see with guys like Mcdaniels. Horrible coaches. Permanent OC's. Mcdaniels positive vibe also alligns with Demeco's culture. It truly is a no brainer.
I wonder whose idea it is to rotate Lake and Juice. Part of me thinks it’s Caley and another thinks it’s Demeco. Cuz rotating linemen is SUCH a defense type of thing. Anyway, it a freaking terrible idea.
