You really thought this team was a superbowl contender? The offense has SO MANY deficiencies. With No Nico and then Schlutz going out early, who did the Patriots have to focus on? They blanket Kirk and no one else was consistently getting open. There was no run game. I like Woody, but he is NOT a #1 RB. The Oline was shuffled again and was getting no push. The Bears invested in their Oline, have 3 WRs that could be #1s and great TE. RB Swift is a true #1 RB. Even then, Caleb threw 5 INTs in 2 games and not getting the hate. Not even going to mention Josh Allen’s turnovers. The Texans need to stop shopping at TEMU and invest in their Oline offense. They need draft/sign a guard and center, sign Breece Hall (or draft a RB above the 4th round…haven’t done that since Ben Tate), and sign a #2 WR while hoping Tank Dell comes back and Higgins/Noel continue to develop. Another TE would help (can’t count on Brevin Jordan staying healthy). Also, GET A VETERAN OC. If you cant get McDaniel, hire Mike McCarthy.
Nick caserio come from the patriots where they used to just plug in cast offs and it worked that can’t be done here at a high rate like there you don’t have the great coach or QB ever. Gonna have to add talent on offense.
You mean the system that requires THE CENTER to take on all the pre snap responsibilities? Choke Job Stroud flourished under this system? Shocked Pikachu face.
Ain’t gonna lie, part of that was in the back of my mind. Caserio playing 4D chess Well Brady did it with castoffs and no-name guys, let’s see if Bernard can. (And maybe we “lower” his price tag in the process) Yeah he had Moss at one point and Gronk and Hernandez but he also had the Amendola’s, the Welker’s, the Danny Woodhead’s. Give us your disgruntled problem players, your castoffs, we’ll turn them into useful players. RBs: Antowain Smith(FA), Kevin Faulk(2nd round), Corey Dillon(FA), Laurence Maroney(1st round), Sammy Morris(FA), Benjarvus Green-Ellis(undrafted), LaMont Jordan(FA), Danny Woodhead(FA), Stevan Ridley(3rd round), Brandon Bolden(undrafted), LeGarrette Blount(FA), Shane Vereen(2nd round), Jonas Gray(undrafted), James White(4th round), Dion Lewis(FA), Mike Gillislee(FA), Rex Burkhead(FA), Sony Michel(1st round), WRs: Troy Brown(8th! round), David Patten(undrafted), Deion Branch(2nd round), Bethel Johnson(2nd round), David Givens(7th round), Tim Dwight(FA), Doug Gabriel(trade), Reche Caldwell(FA), Randy Moss(trade), Wes Welker(trade), Donte Stallworth(FA), Texans legend™ Jabar Gaffney(FA), Sam Aiken(FA), Julian Edelman(undrafted), Chad Johnson(trade), Brandon Lloyd(FA), Danny Amendola(FA), Kenbrell Thompkins(undrafted), Malcolm Mitchell(4th round), Brandon Tate(3rd round), Aaron Dobson(2nd round), Brandon LaFell(FA), Texans Legend™ Keshawn Martin(trade), Chris Hogan(FA), Phillip Dorsett(trade), Cordarrelle Patterson(trade), Brandin Cooks(trade), Josh Gordon(trade), Jakobi Meyers(undrafted), Mohamed Sanu(trade) TE: Rod Rutledge(2nd round), Christian Fauria(FA), Daniel Graham(1st round), Ben Watson(1st round), David Thomas(3rd round), Gronk(2nd round), Aaron Hernandez(4th round), Tim Wright(trade), Scott Chandler(FA), Martellus Bennett(trade) and had the legendary Dante Scarnecchia coaching OL. and Josh McDaniels as OC.
Honestly, how can Caley even get an accurate assessment? Caley is not David Culley weird. But First Time is First Time. Eeverything about his hiring indicates "multi-year" effort. As a first year OC, he had to repair and overhaul entire offense top to bottom. He needed to improve on or change the identity of the established players. While every coach has to inherit different coaches not their people, that doesn't help a first year OC's lack of familiarity He was given bargain signings to replace Pro Bowl o-lineman. All the main weapons were injured throughout season and into last game. The Pro Bowl RB didn't play (not Chubb). Worked in 4 rookies into main roles. Just for the *star* QB to crap the bed anyway And it's actually all on Super Bowl or Bust terms 1 year Caley is an indictment on team management. And still Caley actually did improve the offense overall, possibly even in spite of the QB. I give Caley a generous B grade, and it's 3 CJ plays from a B+. He can use this on his resume to secure NFL work on a high note, not a fail
Former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel informed the Browns he’s withdrawing from their head coaching search ahead of a scheduled in-person interview Wednesday, per sources. McDaniel — who is still a candidate for the Ravens and Raiders HC vacancies — is interviewing for the Chargers offensive coordinator job today. He has multiple OC offers and could have a new home soon.
