That is the issue. The Texans have been cheap on the Offensive side of the ball. TEMU shopping. Time to invest. You need to draft another Olinement in the 1st - 2 rounds. I would draft a RB in the 2nd round (They haven't drafted a RB...that I can remember...higher than 4th round since Ben Tate), Sign a veteran guard or center in FA. I would also try to find a veteran WR and TE. You can't count on Tank or Brevin Jordan to stay healthy. Stover is a third TE at Best.

I would get rid of Caley and find a veteran OC (McDaniel is a pipe dream with so many HC openings).

McCarthy is getting the Titans' HC job. No one wants that job...it seems.

CJ played so bad yesterday he may have saved Caley’s job

This is where I’m at. Think you go for the more experienced OC and QB coach with what’s at stake here. Caley improved as the season went on but there were still long developing plays called in both playoff games that just don’t work with CJ and our personnel. The flea flicker vs the Steelers, Togiai penalty, and play action to CJ’s left on the pick 6 were all bad play calls IMO.

Texans need a reset on offense especially of CJ stays. Caley and Jerrod Johnson need to go

Bobby was fired 6 days after the divisional round loss vs the Chiefs last season. Might know something by this weekend.

Mike Mcdaniel if he's interested i think is impossible not to go for. The one downside is it's a new system AGAIN, and you only get him for one year so you'd have 3 different OC's in 3 seasons. I think Caley is good, i'm happy keeping him. Coaches improve just like players do and he got better as the year went on.

I can't believe I'm here defending some of these things, but those three in particular were more about execution than play call, right?
Flea flicker: Higgins was open deep
Togiai penalty: play would have resulted in a TD
Pick 6: CJ panicked when Bryant (3rd string TE) tripped over Ersery's leg, should have just thrown it at Bryant.

Yes, they need to clean up the operation, and that's probably the biggest growth opportunity for Caley in year 2, assuming he returns.

IMO, there is absolutely something to CJ altering his playing style after the concussion. That's at least twice he's had to miss extended time due to concussions, and I'm guessing he's being coached by someone (Texans or his agent) to not run, if it can be avoided. Secondly, something is off with either his mechanics or he's really impacted by his injured finger. He's not spinning it like he's spun it in the past with respect to placement and velocity.

Rooting for the Texans, so definitely pulling for C.J., but he needs to have an honest assessment of where he is at and take some corrective measures this offseason (which started too early!).

I think McDaniel to the Browns is a virtual lock.

I heard it before McDaniel was even fired. Seems like it should have already happened, though.

Ah, haven't heard that one. That seems like a bad situation for him though their defense is solid

That’s the thing though. We were moving the ball very nicely on those drives yet call plays that the players haven’t executed successfully before. Yes the opportunity was there but you’re relying on players to make plays they aren’t good at or have simply never made before.

Don’t get me wrong, CJ should’ve never thrown the ball up for grabs on that pick 6. But he is also really bad under pressure which is why 2 of those calls should’ve never been called in the first place IMO.

Caley was totally unprepared for this job. Zero reason not to fire him. He’s not OC material

I believe he’s runs a similar system to Bobby right? Or that Baby Shanahan tree variant.

Mike is gonna command some serious money though. Like Chip Kelley OC money. We might have to bump up Demeco significantly.

Demeco does love the Kubiak/shanny system I could see him going back to it

If you get rid of Caley, there better not be another first-timer as his replacement.

The Browns seem to be leaning towards a defensive head coach.
