Actually, I would venture to say he MAY HAVE. The Melo experiment cost us many games at the beginning of the season and we stumbled out of the gate. We started revving up again after he 'disappeared'. If we win even a few more of those early games, we aren't 4th seed and have to tackle GSW in 2nd round. We were 4-6 during the 10 Melo games. Even a couple more wins puts us in 2nd seed easily. Outcome could have been different if we met in WCF. Who knows?
Well yea.....we can play the what if game all day long. We can say that had Mike solidified his rotations from day one we don't lose those games. We can say had the Rockets done a better job preparing for teams like Cleveland and New Orleans, they might have been a higher seed. But that's all speculation. Here are the facts, Melo didn't hurt us in the Golden State series. Mike's inability to make simple coaching adjustments, utilize timeouts and properly rotate players did hurt us in the Golden State series. Do you disagree?
Who cares about melo, if he wasn’t here maybe we’d lose in the WCF instead. We were healthy and lost , poor coaching and lack of adjustments was a big reason as to why
Its not the SAME team that won 73 games because of role players much weaker. I am tired of finding excuses. Durant not playing Curry with 0 pt at first half. But we still can't beat Warriors at the first half!!! SUCK!
Something's gotta give..... I dun think they'd do it but if they really think personnel changes are necessary. MDA is the easiest to get rid of...... Harden won't change. Morey won't change. Fertitta as hell won't change, he might open his wallet further. MDA can't and won't change. MDA's fate is dependent on the personnel we are getting back...... he is not a lock long term. Coaching is an ungrateful job, I admit, people get hired and fired all the time. The same with the players. Fans turn on players like Capela because he played poorly one series. He had 2 different viruses to deal with but people will turn on him because he is the easiest target to pick on. CP3 is getting heat because he is getting older, not getting any better and his contract looks bad.
They need to get LeBron former coach, Mike brown from golden state to give up secrets from the other side.
*sigh* Yea I saw that. If Mike is retained for next season, there's no reason to expect a different outcome.
Here’s the thing.... if he is back next season, the pressure on him will be crazy. He will literally have to make the Finals next year or he might as well put his house up for sale!
Tillman said in his interview that the team is going to take over more of his identity. Thats what its going to take to get the most out of everybody. The Rockets have yet to play even to the level of intensity that they are capable of. Not x and Os and schemes but just intensity.
Look, we're all frustrated. But the Rox were outright robbed of Game 1 Was that MDA's fault? Curry Thompson Mouth Breather Iguana All from 73 win team WHICH ONES ARE WEAKER? Or are the actually STRONGER from having now played together for 4-5 years? They are like a well oiled machine by now. Cry all you want. And yes, we're all disappointed. But face it. We lost to arguably one of the greatest teams of all time. There's no shame in that. Would you jump off a bridge if you lost by .01 sec to Usain Bolt?
As always, the logical question when looking to get rid of anyone, coach or player, is...replace him with ... who? The grass is always greener until you're actually on that side of the fence. There may be some coaches out there who might make a better fit. But getting rid of the current coach is only step 1, and ONLY makes sense if you know what Step 2 is.
