Jon Barry is one of the worst TV analyst. Aside from he's being too concious being on camera, he always says the obvious.
Yeah he sucks. Doesn't seem to know what's going on and he's cocky as hell. Basically, he's Brent Barry if Brent was terrible at his job.
as for having too much time on my hands, perhaps. i love watching nba games, and jon barry and reggie miller both bring down the excitement level of the games by like 1000%. And yes, hubie brown is one of my favorite announcers. I also think Steve Kerr is one of the best in the business. I am also a JVG fan, but understand that he can rub some dudes the wrong way.
More than anything else, I just can't stand Barry's voice. He sounds like he's at a funeral, always talking in low monotones, and simply stating the obvious. He brings ZERO excitement to the game, and he's cocky, and kind of a dick on air to boot. He rarely has anything positive to say about Houston as well, so honestly, I'm down for him to be ousted.
He is so terrible. He can't seem to be able to figure out how to pronounce Dragic, either. He says the "g" like a "j" and he doesn't pronounce the "c" like a "ch." Just like Clyde used to do. He even kept it up after Mike Breen continued to pronounce it correctly throughout the telecast. I enjoyed having the guy playing for us but as soon as I heard him open his mouth the first time I saw him broadcasting, my opinion of him changed quickly. Grade-A moron.

Oops, it wasn't Breen. Got my play-by-play guys mixed up. Funny stuff. I hope it catches on b/c I too would enjoy never having to see/hear him again.
I usually like to hear what the national media has to say about our team in games on ESPN and NBATV, but I had to switch the Rox v. Clippers game over to CSN after hearing this clown gush about Blake Griffin for 30 minutes straight. Literally every time he touched the ball Barry would go on and on about how spectacular his ball-handling is...I almost threw up. Rep coming your way OP
Agreed. Why on earth would you try to rally Rockets fans against a guy who enjoyed playing for the Rockets? I wouldn't even petition for Charles Barkley to be removed and he trashes us all the time.
If Dan Dierdorf can pronounce Michael Hoomanawanui (Patriots tight end) correctly, and I hate Dan Dierdorf, Jon Barry should be able to pronounce Montiejunas or Dragic.
