I agreed with everything Walton said on the pregame show, that man has a much deeper understanding of the game and of Yao than most. I wish Bill were interested in coaching Yao, he could probably relate very well to him. DD
There was one play in today's game at Miami (in the 3rd quarter I think) where Yao got the ball near the elbow and instantly fed T-Mac with a lob for an easy dunk. I thought I had slipped through a time warp and was watching Walton again.
I don't think Van Gundy is terrible, but I still get this feeling that he is just not the right coach for this team.
Unfortunately unless the Rockets totally fall apart in the second half of the season JVG gets at least another season to see what he can do with this team. I just don’t see Les buying out his contract after this season.
Why play spoon with Yao instead of Mutombo? Again Gundy Sucks!!! Spoon Sucks. He wwas not providing any help offensively or defensively. At least Mutombo would have made it difficult for wade coming through the lane. There were a couple of Possessions were sppon gave upuncontested lay ups. And the play where he grabbed the net was just stupid!!! What does Gundy have against Mutombo. Hopefully he won't be trading him also. The fire gundy thoughts in me are starting to arise again.

The 56-year-old Tomjanovich, who won a pair of NBA championships with the Houston Rockets, missed the Lakers' win over Charlotte on Sunday night because of what the team said was a stomach virus. He returned to the coaching ranks this season after recovering from bladder cancer. Assistant coach Frank Hamblen, the only holdover from former coach Phil Jackson's staff, guided the team against the Bobcats and will coach them against the Trail Blazers.
