Can we edit the thread title to read "FIRE VAN GUNDY!!!!!" For whatever reason "FIRE GUNDY" just bothers me, and I'm not even dutch. Can we put "not even dutch" under my member name too? I just like the sound of that.
Not even close i think the JJ and Boki trade thread was much much longer over 1000+ posts. But if your talking about been around for a while than im not sure.
Ok, time to eat up guys! edc Old Man Rock gucci888 Texas Stoke, I thought you were crazy myself. I figured we'd knock off Denver, but Dallas?! Good call, keep em' coming!
FIRE GUNDY????? I don't think so. This team is coming around and JVG is now a basketball offensive genius!! Props to CD for bringing in Wesley and Barry also. Stop the hating, the Rockets are good again.
Hell yeah The offense works if everyone makes shots. What I like the most is defense. Our defense is really good. We don't allow penetration and if they do..Yao and DIkembe are there and our smaller guys all play good interior defense as well. They get steals..blocks..deflections..take charges. We make people shoot from the outside..just sucks when they actually make it..like Braldey making 5 BS lucky shots in the first quarter. lol And he does a good job of igniting more intensity and saying what's wrong and fixing it. Now we just need consistency. We need to get Antonio Daniels because Barry is going to leave. And get Bobby Simmons and Bowen and Padgett can be 4th string. Then power forward Howard is a good backup..somehow trade Mo. We need someone like Tyson Chandler.
I've never posted in this thread, but I feel I've gotta support JVG a little after the INTENSITY i've seen in this team the last two games, especially in the 4th quarter. A coach cannot make a player great statistically... nor can he make a player hit a wide open shot. He CAN inspire, work out a game plan, help on adjustments, and get his team to BELIEVE... and that's what this team is starting to do. The Denver game, after a shaky 3rd quarter, the team comes out with FIRE in the 4th, and never lets up.... blowout. In this game, he switches T-Mac to Dirk, and lets Howard "try" to guard Stackhouse. While Howard couldn't do much of anything with that... it did get the Mavs out of synch with their offense, as they became a half-court team, and we started exposing their awful transition defense. Forget about the points scored by either team... this type of move changed the momentum, and it was enough to propel us to victory. He still may not be the right coach for this team... and he still may only be able to succeed when it matters most (in the playoffs)... but I am giving him the rest of the season with a stable roster to fully evaluate his coaching... instead of just looking at him on a game-by-game basis like many here.
