The hundred dollar bet that was to Gucci and his Nostradumas like predictions of doom for the Rockets, that **** don't fly around here. that was a human to human bet.

but the tip jar bet - which I like better - we'll start off with 25 going to the tip jar from the loser.

but after a few more heinekens and few smart ass remarks from you van gundy haters i may just have to up the ante.

I just can't stand what "I think" (don't know for sure) JVG and Ewing are doing with Ming. Even if I am right, I know it is not all their fault, but Ming is a shadow of his former self. True, defenses have adapted, but, he looks like his confidence has been severely shaken. He doesn't look like he knows what to do, but in the Games, he did. Difference: coaching. It's ninety percent mental, and JVG is perfect for a group of NY street kids, hardcore. But that approach is not working here. (It is not like what side of this issue we are on makes any difference anyway; aren't we all just participating in a fantasy?) You think Les comes here to get our advice? Doubtful. ;)

Really? The Rockets are right where we're suppose to be? A sub-.500 ball club? Sorry TexasStoke, I had much better expectations for this team than .500 basketball.

I won't take the bet, just because I don't gamble and I wouldn't bet against my team if I did. But if anyone else would like to take that bet, please do. It would amusing to watch another JVG Lover switch over to the dark side. ;)

On behalf of those of us who are on record (see past posts...) as opposing the JVH hiring from the outset, I'd like to welcome those of you who've been wandering in the wilderness, like so many hallucinogenic, revisionist, pollyanna's.

I believe I said something to the effect that JVG has NO CLUE about how to coach offense, and that our beloved Rox, would be lucky to make the playoffs this year...

In the 2004 Playoff Order prediction thread, I predicted the Rox would compete with Phoenix, Seattle, Memphis and Utah (OK, so I was off the mark on the last one...) for the last two spots in Post-season.

JVG has a serious mood and personality disorder.... He may even like some kind of idiot sav`ant with his ability to coach defense:

    Jeff Van Rainman:

"Of course, I'm an excellent basketball coach... excellent basketball coach... - wait, these are definitely not my underwear... oh, OK - it's time for Wopner... Yeah, definitely time for Wopner"

    :D :D :D

Hillarious!!!! Yao didn't score... Definitely time for a trade definitely time for a trade. 5 players on the court, 7 players on the bench, 15,433 people in the stands... 15435. Definitely time for a trade.

    Funny stuff

watching this man is just plain depressing.

we get a good win tonight. Win by double digits and he looks like we lost by 40. A reporter asked him about the defense tonight and commented that it seemed like the rotation and the double teams were doing pretty good and JvG goes, "well I thought it was horrible" "We're slow to the ball, more than you could imagine".

sheesh, how can any team with this guy being the coach be confident and happy? even with a win?!?! The guy just emits depression and is never satisfied with anything.

Its depressing just looking at him...just imagine what the players feel hearing from him 24/7. Him and Rudy are on the opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to this. I miss Rudy...:(

    fire the focker.

Well Rudy is known for being a player friendly coach so thats not too suprizing. I dont see Larry Brown high fiving his players ether & no im no defending JVG just making a point. Hopfully this will b Grummpys last season as head coach of the Houston Rockets...
