Jeff Van Gundy needs to be fired especially with Phil Jackson who I think would like to caoch the rockets is presently available if not for the rest of this season definitly for next talk to him now and have it the deal done by all star break. I am a Jeff Van Gundy fan and I do not blame him for all the losses this season but I do blame him for some key ones the one to New York both to Charlotte, the one to Atlanta. That is four losses that should be wins. I feel that he manages the game terribly and he never puts Yao in during key situations. i feel he is trying to teach a lesson on how to play without him not knowing that the answer is they cannot. Trust me Yao is not always the answer either, but tonight he actually was to an extent when he got in the game and we started making shots the point diffrential shows. On that not Lue is not a good shooter why are we setting him up he is the point guard that is his job, especially when he cannot even hit shots in the paint. Houston never ever seems to run half court plays to get easy layups. That is Van Gundys fault he makes us live and die by the three point shot too much. This is no time to showcase Mo Taylor, Howard, Lue or Ward who all four of them combined for fourtenn points raising their trade value what trade value. Houston had six ponits from the bench that is not going to get it done I think Nachbar can get it done by himself at the very least he can help the bench to score more ponits than that another bad coaching decision by Jeff Van Gundy. I feel that he is still dong too much experimenting with what is already obvious Barret is the best point guard on the team. Until you trade for a better on he should start. Nachbar is our best bench player. Make him our sixth man make him play the three and four like Radmanovic of Seattle and raise the tempo with Barret the players like Padgett Taylor can become more useful. We need wins and frankly that is not on Jeff Van Gundy priority list.
I dont get why Yao was taken out of the game for Pagett. If you are going to bring in Pagett bring him in for Mo. And why is sorry ass Ward getting any mins. ahead of AB. Then he only plays boki for like 3 mins. This loss is embarrassing. 1-3 vs. Hawks/Bobcats.
I think taking Yao out was a deciplinary(?) action. Yao was not trying very hard at the time. AB is on IL. Boki played like crap for 3 mins. Yes, this loss is embarrassing.
Why is AB on the IL and not Ward. AB shoots better, passes better, and runs the fast break much better. AB even though he is under 6 feet might even play better defense than Ward. I cant believe that Van Dummy cant see that Ward is all washed up. I guess its because Ward is a former Knick or maybe Van Dummy actually thinks he offers veteran leadership. Worst part is that we still have him under contract for another year. As far as Yao, yeah he had 10 TOs and that sucks but exactly what kind of message does it send when you bench him for 3-4 mins in the 4th quarter of a game you NEED to win. All it does it hurt his confidence and helps the Bobcats win the game (not like Padgett did anything while he was in there anyways).
Ward is under contract for 2 more seasons if I'm not mistaken... and AB can't shoot better than Ward or play better D... but he does pass well, brings the ball up the court faster, and just has a better energy/intensity than Ward... which is why I don't understand why he was placed on the IL .. we already tried Lue and Ward... that didnt work.. AB was working ... y mess w/ something wen its not broke.
Make the move and fire JVG now before it's too late and the season is lost. Les should invite Phil Jackson to his Christmas party.
Does anyone bring fire JVG signs to the games yet? If not they should. Fire JVG chants would help too.
I thought Ward was only guaranteed 2 years. If you look at the numbers you can see that Ward is shooting 31% over all form the field and 31% from 3 pt range. Where as Barrett is shooting 38% form the field and 33% from 3 pt range. So Barrett is shooting the ball better than Ward. On defense it is much easier for opposing point guards to drive by Ward than it is for them to drive by Barrett. Barrett's height can be a liability but so far that has not been a problem (i cant remember any point guards really posting up on him). We both can agree on the fact that Barrett did nothing to be put behind Ward in terms of playing time. Another reason why Van Dummy needs to be fired !!!
Someone I know made a sign at the TC that said fire van gundy but the person behind the table tore it up.
There were only three of us at the get go, just ask munco. In order: Rocket Rich NYC Pizza thehut Myself
I said at the beginning of LAST season when I started this club AFTER training camp that his style of coaching was going to alienate players, not keep up with the west teams, and was going to be ugly boring basketball and many of you all thought I was a mad man. Now look. JVG was an egomaniac in New York and continues to be here in Houston. ALL ABOARD! There's still more room! Even for you Munco!
So I guess the 1st Amm. doesn't apply within the confines of the TC. Even more reason to stick it to tha man. JVG, ure the man! CD, yeah ure the man too! And oh yeah, Les, ure the owner and you keep forcing this stale product on us, so ure the man as well!
I think since it was their cardboard, they have the right to tore it. But this time I'm bring my own, and if they try do anything to it, I will call the cops on them.
Next time I'm up the dining section, I'll try to press the placemats against the glass with "Fire - JVG". The redcoats can't see it if I'm busy with a martini in front.
Which brings us full circle, because in the eyes of many folks those problems start with Jeff Van Gundy.
