    Nope.

    Not what you said.

But if you talk about Gundy's wierd substition patterns and his inability to adjust to games, then yeah, that does go right over my head.

You would think after suffering defeat time and time again by Jackson led team, he would actually ponder over what Jackson has been saying about him. Afterall, the man does have 9 championship rings. Which is 9 more than JVG.

nope, not Mr. Gundy though. Too arrogant and too stubborn.

Uhh, you don't think the fact that Phil Jackson has coached and rode only the 3 best players in the game (MJ, Shaq, Kobe) over the last 10 years had anything to do with those 9 championship rings do you?

What is the difference from last season to this season????

    INJURIES!!!!

Were these injuries caused by JVG??

    NO!!!!

Should JVG be fired because of a season riddled with injuries that were not caused by him???

    Definitely Not.

No matter how you cut it and whatever excuses you make,

I will take the words of the man who has won 9 rings over a man who has yet to sniff one.

If anyone thinks JVG is better than Phil and passes on him, his loyalty to JVG overrides his desire for a championship for the Rockets.

Exhibit #1, Les Alexander this summer. Boy, he must be regretting his decision right now.

Should Mr. Van Gundy be relieved of his duties for blowing a 2-0 lead (with 3 home games), and losing a game seven by the largest amount ever in NBA history???

    WITHOUT A DOUBT!

Maybe not but it sure as hell was his fault for failure to adjust to Jason Terry.

He never adjusted his game plan to cover Terry after he got hot. He still hasnt this year.

As I said, stubborn. Got outcoached by a rookie.

Yes, Ryan Bowen is Mr. Van Gundy's guy, and would likely not be part of the organization if they had any other head coach.

How many complete seasons has Coach Van Gundy had with a healthy Yao and Tracy?

I keep asking myself that question because I keep forgetting.

I know it's not three. Two? no, not that many. One. Yeah. That's it. One, one season.

Carry on, just thinking out loud here.

About as relevant as asking how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

How many complete seasons has Mr. Van Gundy coached in the NBA?

How many championship rings does he have?
I know it's not three. Two? no, no that many. One.? No, Zero. That's it. Zero.

Yeah...the Rockets losing that series was completely JVG's fault...the players had nothing to do with it

Has Phil Jackson ever had to rebuild a team? No.

Has Phil Jackson ever had to coach a team w/o 1 (or 2) of the top 3 players in the league already? No.

The idea that Phil Jackson is this "Coaching God" is absolute myth. Its a farce...a racket....A SHAM. The whole triangle offense is a gimmick. What made the Lakers sucessful wasn't the triangle offense, it was playing inside out with Shaq and Kobe's greatness. Exactly what Van Gundy is trying to do with Yao and T-Mac. What made the Bulls successful was 2 men, Michael Jordan(The Best player EVER.) and Scottie Pippen, and sometimes Rodman. Last I checked, Phil Jackson got his rear end swept the last time he showed his face in the Finals, and he had arguably the best starting lineup ever assembled. Jeff Van Gundy took an injured Knicks team (w/o Ewing), that was in the 8th spot in the East to the Finals. That's what I call a damn good coach. Besides, isn't a little late to fire someone for something that happened a year ago?

If the players do not go out and execute and show desire on a consistent basis it is the head coach's problem. A playoff series is all about moves and countermoves. Either way, once a team gets blown out in a GAME SEVEN, the head coach's failed in a big way - he either did not prepare an adequate countermove, or he failed to instill the significance of "no tommorow."

Phil Jackson will be taking a team not expected to make the playoffs into the postseason. They may lose, but should the Lakers make a game seven, you can be certain they will not get embarassed the way the Rockets did.

Excuses ... Excuses... Is that not what you preach and criticize like a broken record on Van Gundy? And here you are already forgiving P. Jackson for a sure first round loss this year in the playoffs. If Phil Jackson is every bit the coach you say Van Gundy isn't, Jackson shouldn't have any problems getting to the second round. And don't be so sure about the Lakers not getting embarrassed ... if they get Phoenix or San Antonio in the first round it won't be pretty.
