I agree it would make sense in my above deal to move Sheed and/or McDyess to other superior teams in need of a vet 4 (Nets, Rockets, etc)--proably get expiring contracts and a 1st round pick for either. So in effect Minny gets the equivalent of the Orlando pick (probably excellent pick) plus 3-4 mid to late first round picks, and they will have their own high pick. Or they keep one of Sheed or McDyess instead of 1 late pick and have a little more respectable team.

KG is 30, his stats are going down for two years, and has been out of the playoffs for 2 strait years. He is still a great player, but something has to happen. I'd do this (full out rebuild through the draft and trade KG while his value is still very high) if I were Minny. I don't think there will be a lot better offers, few teams have young budding superstar would would be willing to trade him for an older superstar star with a giant contract and have the contracts to match.

Remember the Marbury trade worked out well for Phx. Sometimes trading a superstar right on their down side even if he is the best player in the deal right now is smart.

I knew that Marbury was overrated, sooner or later someone would figure out that he's not a great franchise player to build around.

Phx was smart for knowing this. Now everyone knows this, so it would hard to move him.
