Wow, that didn't take long! Hate losing to the Yankees, but it's one game. C'mon folks let's stay positive.
Look, of course, this thread is tongue-in-cheek this early in the season. However, that pinch-hit move was BAFFLING because of Meyers homered earlier in the game. I hope Espada doesn't fall into the trap of over-managing to prove he can follow Dusty. As much as some of you hate Dusty, he did make it to 4 ALCS, 2 WS, and won 1. That is a tough act to follow and continue the success. We hope he is GREAT, but he can't continue making those moves.
I didn't ( don't) like the move but I understand it. Framber's lack of command, Martinez walking a guy on 4 not even close pitches w/ the bases loaded, and Pressly giving up 2 hits and a walk were the reason they lost. Montero gave up a HR which sucks, but it was the only baserunner he gave up. It's not like he was hit around or walked people. Pitching was the biggest culprit yesterday. And Pressly threw 27 pitches and Abreu isn't available again, so I hope Javier can go 6+ or the Astros get a big enough lead that Bielak can throw 3 or both.
Using a contentious description like "baffling", plus adding all caps is pretty rich for a guy who defended Dust at all cost, never questioning any move he made for years. Singleton PH'd for a .880 OPS guy last season who had a hit earlier in the game then ended said game by K'ing. You probably thought the move was brilliant. Yes, the thread is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I started to reply yesterday when posters were complaining about it already being started. It was started before the season began.
Riceboy? Wow...racist much? Thought you were better than that. No difference from you and the racist Singleton Twitter bashers.
No racist. Boy who went to Rice = Riceboy It was a term of endearment back in the day. I apologize that you or anyone took it otherwise, but I can see how that happened. My bad.
Not your bad, jumping to a "go to" conclusion is what is bad. you are owed an apology, not the other way around.
One thing I was afraid of with Espada was that he worked alongside dumbass Dusty for so long. I was worried that some of that dipshittery rubbed off on him.
