This is looking like a loss. The offense has gone into slumber but Framber is the main issue with this game obviously. His stinker tonight is a buzz kill. The team can't let it get them the rest of the series. Framber doesn't deserve a long leash moving forward.
His in game management is terrible. If the Astros happen to make the playoffs, I don’t trust him at all.
Framber is fine. He was doing well entering the inning and he still had velocity. I’m more concerned that we have a manager that blew a 5 run lead by letting a starter give up 7 runs in an inning. When it was 6-4, Valdez should have been pulled. That is simply inexcusable
Framber going renegade is fine?!? Clearly Espada doesn't have the respect he should. What's he going to do about it?
Framber’s pitching ability is fine. As for how Espada and the Astros handle it - I don’t know. My best guess is nothing happens. Maybe we see Caratini catch him or Valdez doesn’t go rogue again. As for respect in the locker room and organization - I can promise you that the next manager will be 100% Crane’s decision. Brown had a lot of input the choice of Espada.
I thought Espada was an automatic choice. Players liked him and he's been mentored by 2 world series managers. But holy smokes, he ain't that bright. I still miss Hinch. He wasn't perfect but he gave you confidence that he knew what he was doing most of the time.
I'm not in the locker room so I can't make any comment as to how he's doing there....but all the smoke suggests really not good. What I can easily comment on is his in game choices, and they have been terrible...consistently. He makes a lot of the same boneheaded lineup choices Dusty made (although he's gotten better recently) and his bullpen usage (or failure to use) has been a disaster. I thought basic game management would have been his strong point given all his time here.
I dont get all of the Hinch love, he won a title when he allowed his players to cheat. Then he was given an all time great team and choked away another title.
Won the 1st title in franchise history and didn't deliberately sabotage the team to feed his own ego. That's probably a good starting point.
Had to cheat to win it. Who sabotaged the team? I would say Hinch/Cora and Beltran are who you're referring too?
Exactly I think you're ungrateful that the man built a dynasty level team that has carried on through 2 more GM's and a decade of great baseball. If you are referring to how he treated the press I would love to see everybody in the press treated they way Luhnow treated them if the press is going to treat people badly.
