hmmm. why not just go all the way crazy and buy into the Air Raid?? Bring in cooky Mike Leach and let the fun begin!! His quotes and pressers are pretty awesome. eccentric, but it would be cool to see all this speed actually schemed open. I know its a pipe dream but hopefully it will end up being some guy with a PROFOUND understanding of ANY system instead of the confusion we have here.

There is a strong feeling that Dabo ultimately wants to make it back to Alabama where he grew up and played. Clemson even built in an Bama clause into his contract. Not saying he’d leave but don’t think it’s out of the realm he could give the NFL a shot and if it’s not working out, take off for Bama when Saban retires.

It’s a long shot and would personally bet against it. But if he'd ever make the jump, the timing and situation could be ideal for him IMO.

What's wrong with Greg Roman? He was terrific in SF and has been just as good if not better in Baltimore.

Look at playoff records for his system. It’s too simple and figured out in the playoffs.

Greg Roman was one play away from winning the Superbowl and has done well with multiple QBs and teams. Bienemy has been amazing, but he has been an OC for a couple of years, has had Patrick Mahomes that whole time, and has Andy Reid (a proven offensive genius) involved as well. There are more unknowns about what he could do without the game's best QB.

Unless I am missing something he is 5-4 as an offensive coordinator in the playoffs.

That includes an NFC Championship win, a SB comeback in a came SF should have won if not for Jacoby Jones going off and a PI that wasn't called in the endzone at the end of that game.

They also had some extremely impressive performances in the divisional round, 45-31 over GB, 36-32 over NO...

Idk he's been pretty damn great at his job if you ask me. Maybe he isn't HC worthy, but he sure as hell knows how to get the best out of his offense.

But he didn’t win and was completely figured out right after the super bowl.
Has had no success in the postseason with Baltimore.
The system is gimmicky and has been stopped too many times in playoffs, Bienemy has more variety imo.

I equate Roman to small ball/Dantoni system, regular season success, some mild postseason success but ultimately too single dimensioned.

    5-4 is good?
I know it’s better than O’Brien, not saying that it’s not. I just want better in this imaginary world where OB is gone.

And I also would prefer Watson to be more like Mahomes and not like Kap or Jackson.

Tom Landry is 20-16, Don Shula is 19-17, Andy Reid 15-14, Parcells 11-8, Pete Carroll 11-9, John Harbaugh 10-7, Tony Dungy 9-10, Mike Tomlin 8-7, Sean Payton 8-7.

You may not like some of the coaches on this list, but it's hard to argue that any of them were/are bad.

If your standard is Bill Belichik (31-12) then that's kinda ridiculous.

Agreed, but Roman has worked with different QBs, not just Kap and Jackson. He's proven he will adapt his system to his QB not the other way around.

The made the NFC title game the year after the Superbowl and their not winning the SB involved scoring 31 points. He had no control of the defense giving up 34.

His 2nd year QB had 350 yards passing and 150 yards rushing in their playoff game last year. Not sure how they only scored 12 points, but the offense had no problems at all moving the ball.

Bienemy also has a QB that can do everything - he is both physically and mentally elite (think Favre arm, Manning brain, plus a good ability to scramble). Both Kaepernick and Jackson had massive question marks and holes in their games where many people thought they couldn't be NFL quarterbacks.

If he was 5-4 with a super bowl win under his belt like the coaches listed I could see the comparison.

Yeah he worked with Carr and didn’t do much when he worked for Texans.
I just think his system in one dimensional and takes a heavy toll on its QB and the run heavy sets he puts at their feet.

So the book is written on him because he defense gave up 34 in the SB and Lamar Jackson turned the football over while his defense was being pushed around by Derrick Henry?

    Alex Smith??

He wasn't the OC in Houston. Carr was never going to make it with that OL getting him sacked 72 times. SMH...

Bottom line is he hasn’t won anything, the “system” fell apart real quick under him in San Fran.
Moving the ball in Baltimore has been easy, winning in the playoffs hasn’t been.
Kap was a result of the system Roman used, Lamar does more in the same system but is still limited progression wise.
Bienemy does have a do it all QB, one would hope Watson is more like that type than he is like Lamar and Kap.
Run heavy QB systems have never won a super bowl. Period.
Watson needs to be like Mahomes, Wilson and Rodgers. Not Lamar, he’s not the athlete Lamar is to begin with.

Not saying is is, but he’s been in NFL since 03 in some capacity.
I would rather the OC that trained under one of the best offensive minds in football that has recently won a super bowl. With a QB that has similar skill sets as Mahomes (hopefully)
