correct on all points. You are arguing with someone who hates any fan who even slightly questions anything. So, no point in engaging. He is incredibly biased.
Think about with this team as flawed as they are, where they would be if just a few tweaks had been made.
"Then, as the Reds drifted, then nose-dived late in the year, Baker insisted there was no need for urgency"
There's been plenty of things to get frustrated with on Dusty in recent weeks but why were people calling out Dusty in the game thread for not challenging a play? The manager doesn't watch the replay. They get a yes or no from someone watching in a replay room. I wonder who sits in that replay room.
I can't see the Astros firing Dusty after 3 straight seasons of coming within a game of the World Series, 2 games of winning the World Series, and then finally winning it. That being said, he's done a terrible job this year. Who couldn't see Jose Abreu hitting into a double play in the 9th batting cleanup?
The Teams has had a horrible year. Losing half your starters (not including JV), plus injuries to bats will do that. The Astros' depth is gone. It has to be rebuilt. All teams go thru it.
Dusty has been gasoline to a dumpster fire season. He's really not that good. He's been fortunate to manage some of the best players to ever play the game. Nobody was knocking down his door to manage again. It took a cheating scandal for him to get a PR gig as a manager again. Looking forward to when he's gone.
Crane has shown he's not afraid to fire people. I can see Crane firing Dusty if he is unwilling to make obviously needed lineup changes (i.e. Maldonado/Diaz, Myers/McCormick)
I think this decision must be on Crane and not Brown. Brown must go to Crane and make his case. But at the same time, it will be tough to ask Crane to fire Dusty when at least 7 of the current active players should be in the minors and he is responsible for that. Crane could just say, " Give him better players to put in the lineup "
