I know this is fire Baker but most of them noise I hear is Click and Crane aren't close. Maybe a clean slate no matter the outcome.
That's....a weird post. Actually, I probably need to get inside for a change. Swimming all summer in the Caribbean can take it's toll. But, I'm back in H-town now, so we'll see. Although, I'm not much of an inside person, I do love the air-conditioned confines of Minute Maid Park during the playoffs. You? Go 'Stros
I don't know anything about you but since you shared I will as well. I only swimmed when I boxed. It's obviously good cardio but I prefer running Memorial park. I used to spar at Willie's gym but he passed so now I go to main street (Lou an Mikey's gym). Not super convenient but good work. I go to a ton of games so I will be there. I'll pay for the drinks if you want to dm me once we get the schedule set. No hard feelings
Your memory isn't serving you correctly. https://www.chron.com/sports/astros/article/Astros-manager-Dierker-forced-to-resign-2037120.php "We were mutually in agreement that we needed to make a change," Hunsicker said. "Larry has chosen to step down as the manager of the Houston Astros. I can't think of any one player or other single person that is as synonymous with the Houston Astros than Larry Dierker.
I remember my uncle getting drunk at a family picnic but like this reference had nothing to do with Dierker getting let go.
Now, that's a great post! You got it man. That sounds good and I appreciate it. But, lay off Dusty during the game lol. I used to run at Memorial Park a lot, but stay a bit further out west now and I can't find find a place I like to run as much as there.
I went to Curacão for the first time and loved it! Beautiful beaches and women and has produced more mlb players per capita than anywhere in the world. Also made the Little League WS championship this year. Baseball is huge there. The only reason the Netherlands is in the world baseball classic..it's in the Dutch Antilles islands.
Run on the other side of Memorial. Memorial Heights. You can run around Marcella apartments. I do it and it's not crowded whatsoever. We will meet up for a game and run. I'll lay off Dusty since you seem like good people
His son Druw might play for them in the wbc if his shoulder recovers in time. Jansen, Albies, Gregorius and Profar are from there. Bogaerts is from Aruba.
Druw is really good. I'd like to see him play but be careful with his shoulder I knew about Albeis and Gregi, didn't know Jansen was from there. Cool on Xavier. Wasn't aware of that either
Then he shouldn't have been batting at all - correct? After all, he might have hit a double or triple and had to run the bases.
Personally,mI don’t mind the regulars/stars getting ABs to keep their timing. If he hit a gapper, I’d have had him on instructions not to push hard running, certainly no triples. But in that spot, he singled and it was mid/late game. He had gotten his ABs and other regulars had been pulled. Hell, I’d been happy to have our last bullpen arm jog for him.
Alvarez is a baseball player and has been pulled multiple times for various reasons all season. At some point they have to let him play and substitute someone else. And they did. Chas was the only player left on the bench. That certainly shows they are focusing on keeping players healthy and bench players sharp. And they were still trying to win the game. The Brewers game was still in progress and the Phillies still had not clinched. He could trip and hurt himself walking into the dugout. Life is uncertain Baseball is uncertain
at some point … it’s time to be a little risk averse when it comes to Altuve, Bregs, Tucker and Yordan, and given their histories, I would be most protective of Bregs and Yordan. Outside of these four, everyone else is reasonably replaceable. Peña is easily the next most important player. Diaz can capably fill in as a bat, but the defense drops off and it would hurt our depth and flexibility. But my point is that we should be more risk averse with the other four. Yes, anything can happen, but that’s hardly the point.
I think James Click isn't getting along with Jeff Luhnow Staff and they are in conflict. It must be really awkward because James Click wants to hire more Tampa Bay People but But Jim Crane says no. James Click is really Smart in Not Trading Away Hunter Brown, Yandy Diaz, Pedro Leon these Players are the Astros Future. Dusty Baker is really stubborn in not using Analytics and didn't get along with Brent Strom. Jim Crane Joe Espada as Manager Maybe Promote Assistant GM to GM
I can not imagine ANY owner not bringing back at least one of the Mgr and GM after a season like this. Probably both will be back but I do not see any scenario where neither return. My choice is Click and promote Espada. But 1) the team may not want a rookie manager at the wheel of a WS calibur team 2) the differences between Crane and Click may lead to Click not resigning at which point Crane resigns Dusty before hiring a new GM ( again) 3) Crane may feel there are no better candidates out there and give Click a new contract but force him to roll another year with Dusty before hiring a Mgr of his choosing. Espada is a MLB manager next year- somewhere.
