I guess it does for Dumbo. No WS as a manager. You're being harsh on your boy

You missed the point of those stats. Every 1B in MLB scoops somewhere between a great majority of their chances and the vast vast majority of them. It’s not some Yuli specific skill. If you played Mancini over there he’d scoops 80-94% of his chances just like all big leaguers.

I guess Blummer and Kalas missed the point too when they made a big deal about it...

I looked at that and changed it to 2021. Yuli was 23rd and yet he won a gold glove.

    Was his gold glove illegitimate?

People keep saying how bad he is at fielding based on stats, but he won an award for it. It’s hard to discern either way.

I can tell you from watching he doesn’t seem as bad as the stats say he is.

That said I would rather see Mancini at first for his bat.

    That was using DRS metrics.

If you switch to UZR it's just as bad for Yuli.

So Bakers nonsense about gold gloves is a giant turd. It shows he is clueless when it comes to advanced metrics.

Yuli sits at the bottom of hitting and defensive metrics for 1st baseman. Mancini sits way higher on the defensive side of both advanced metrics and hits an ass ton better.

I do not care much for Dusty but I also do not see much point in belaboring the point this late in what is probably his last season. Good times are ahead to be followed by even better times.

Dusty is a great guy, but an average manager at best.

    A regular season guy.

As the postseason creeps closer the more afraid I become. Almost feels like we’re gonna waste a magical season.

Every post season team Dusty has managed - has left feeling that exact thing.

As everyone shpuld expect, Dusty is gone after this year. Just hope Astros can win the big one to give him a WS and he can walk out with his head held high.

I'd fire him right now. Don't wait until he does something stupid in the playoffs. It's coming -- no one doubts it. This merry-go-round of lineups and stubborn lack of playing time for Vazquez and Mancini is absurd. We have a 110-win roster that Dusty will manage to a 99-win season.

People really think Astros are going to fire Dusty in middle of season? With lead in division and AL? Let's ge real, we're riding this out so just hope for the best...just know he's gone afterwards.

When I saw tonight's line up card I thought it was a bad joke. Urquidy was pitching like an ace in spite of that and was playing the hero in the 8th with two outs he gave up a single and got a quick hook from Dusty. To add insult to injury Dusty then proceeded to let Montero give up at bat after at bat till he gave away the shutout Urquidy had carried through 8 2/3 innings and then the game. For the first time I am not just unhappy with him, I am really pissed at Dusty. And at Click for keeping Dusty around. And at anybody who has the damn nerve to defend our idiot manager after tonight's cluster pluck.

Hope floats. I think Dusty is more restricted in the playoffs as history has shown...that's the hope we have.

The only shot stros have of winning the world series is if some of these starters (i.e javier) get hot and just dominate in the bullpen in high leverage situations. Most good teams will make the playoffs a 6 or 7 inning game and I don't have thay faith in our bullpen. We have a awesome set up man as closer and pretty good 6,7 inning guys as set up men. Look at hoe many games we have lost recently (including all to yankees) where the bullpen is the one that gave the game away.

At this point the only reasonable explanation for some of Dusty’s decisions is that he is wholly unconcerned w the regular season, and frankly I wouldn’t fault him for taking that approach. He routinely starts guys like Dubon and Meyers and Yuli and brings in struggling pitchers in tight spots and yet we’re still 2.5 games up in the AL.

Must be part of the reason they love playing for him bc he lets them prove it on the field.
