Dusty baker is soft as ****. Could you imagine him in a bigger media market? Chandler ****ing Rome pushed him to retire lol
This is a pretty bad look for crane also. Having a manager deliberately sabotage your team is pretty rough
I think Dusty is a cool old dude and I would love to drink a beer with him. I also think that Dusty hurt this team dramatically with his stubbornness and questionable (at best) managerial decisions. It's best for everyone that he retires.
that's what i was thinking. johnnie would be put on blast after every game if he was in the northeast media or LA.
Jim Crane was scared about the Backlash if he Fired Dusty Baker. Astros were stuck with him. Dusty was a huge Distraction, saying he wanted to retire midseason and the Team played mediocre, This Distraction hanging over their head and players getting injured.
Sean Salisbury protected him like no other every, single morning on 790 AM as the best manager in MLB history...
I used to listen to Sports talk for 15 years on my 1 1/2 commute to and from Houston from my home in Montgomery before moving to Tennessee. I still watch every Astro, Rocket, and Texas game and am a huge fan of all. Houston Sports Radio has been horrible since Lance and Granotto and Charlie Pallilo left. When I go back to Houston to visit, I turn on sports radio and am stunned about how horrible it is. I thank God I am not wasting my time on that drivel anymore.
It appears that getting a sports talk job in Houston requires that you DON'T WANT TO BE HERE or HAVE AN INTEREST IN SPORTS. I don't give a flying flip about your day or what guests blow you off so you can sulk on air for three hours or why YOU are the final say on pop music. Oh! I also don't like wall to wall gambling sponsors trying to get you to gamble hundreds of dollars a week. It's perverse.
You know how dumb you sound? A team that made it to the ALCS and lost in 7 games. They didn't lose because of Dusty or Maldy. They lost because Framber **** the bed and Kyle Tucker and Jeremy Pena were no-shows. McCormick didn't do much either. If Framber has ONE decent start in the ALCS, the Astros win that series.
