"He ain’t a big boy yet. It’s hard to be a big boy right out the gate. What is this, Chas’ third or fourth year? The big boys are Altuve, Bregman, Tucker, those are the big boys. The other boys are approaching big boys." - Dusty Baker
I am pretty sure Dierker would have won one if you gave him 29 chances with a roster that Dusty was given.
Thank you everyone for your service. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...charles-barkley-retire-negative-18466760.php? “We had a lot of success here, Ernie and Charles, and then the last couple of months here weren’t very pleasant, because we weren’t 10 games ahead,” Baker said. “You spoil people. They think you’re supposed to win this every year running away and it’s not like that. Every year’s different. There was a whole bunch of criticism from 30-year-olds and bloggers and tweeters that I’m not doing this and I don’t know that and I told my wife, ‘You know, I’m kind of tired of this and tired of the scrutiny and if I could go manage and show up at say 6:30 for a 7 o’clock game and leave 30 minutes after the game, don’t do the (pregame and postgame interviews), I could manage for another four or five years.’ You know what I mean? After a while, you just get tired of answering questions.”
I think he was spoiled. He forgets that he inherited a championship caliber team with a top tier front office. He got to do whatever the F he wanted. However, when things aren't going as great, people will start questioning if it was stuff you did or if you were just there for the ride. I can say for this past season, we won despite him, not because of him. He was negative WAR as a manager.
The way I've handled it, the 30-year olds will thank me, the bloggers will thank me and the tweeters will thank me.
Spite and stubbornness. I will always believe that Astros would have won it this year if it weren't for Baker. Screw that arrogant and insanely irrational jerk.
I want to thank everyone for contributing to him wanting to retire. We did it!!!!! What a dumbass old codger. His Houston legacy will be you let the Rangers win a World Series.
So this means the Astros opponents this year were whoever they were playing that particular day and Dusty...he should go into the hall as a Giant, no way do I want him to represent Houston...
So many things wrong with Dusty's thinking.... he wants to work less, he forgets who pays his salary (fans), he wants no accountability, he's closed-minded, he's stubborn... And he won't admit he was wrong about Yainer or Chas. I supported firing him mid-season -- he deserved it.
To all bloggers and tweeters out there THANK YOU! now if we can summon all our powers to get rid of Bagwell and his influence
Yeah, you wish you could exhibit your stubborn foolishness without any questions. Pete Rose would be proud. Don't let the door hit your arse.
