What is your "to be fair" for him pulling Chas for jon tonight? You usually have an excuse for him so I would love to hear this one
You simply DO NOT pinch hit for a .875 OPS hitter. That's a top twenty hitter in all of MLB. Putting in Singleton for Chas tonight was one of the stupidest managerial decisions Dusty has made. And this is the man who batted Barry Bonds, possibly the greatest hitter of our lifetimes, 5th in the order.
Really hope we part ways after this season. The PR stunt to bring him in isn't relevant anymore guys.
Dusty has failed every 9th inning pinch hit decision he's made this season. Singleton, Corey Julks..freaking Bligh Madris. All his reasons for them for ******* moronic too.
If I was FO and Crane, after today, I'll pull Dusty's rug from under him and treat it as if its postseason time. Take full control and make Dusty a real lame duck manager, because whatever he's doing isn't working anyways. He's not motivating the players and his decisions are senile.
Dusty won the power struggle with Click last year, and Dana is avoiding that same fate. Dusty may be the GM/manager in the same manner as BOB.
If you actually read my posts you will know that I am very critical of Dusty and frustrated with his lineup decisions. Furthermore, I have stated on many occasions that Chas needs to play everyday. There is no excuse for PHing for Chas in that situation last night. I would say I agree with about 65% of the Dusty b****ing around here. About 20% of it I find not an issue The other 15% I agree with Dusty, or at least can see some logical reason for the choice. To say I usually have an excuse is unfair and inaccurate.
I have never disliked an Astros manager as much as I do Dusty. Some of the things he does are truly unbelievable. No other manager in a tightly contested race would do these things.
I mean of the managers in my lifetime as an Astros fan, Baker is probably in the top 5 best. You really dislike him more than all these guys: Dusty Baker A.J. Hinch Tom Lawless Bo Porter Tony DeFrancesco Brad Mills Dave Clark Cecil Cooper Phil Garner Jimy Williams Matt Galante Terry Collins Art Howe
Based upon all Dana’s comments it appears as if all he was tasked to do was the draft and be gofer for Dusty.
To clarify. I don't want Dusty as the manager. I have disliked many of his roster decisions for 2-3 years. But there is a difference between wanting him gone because he is past his prime and not a good manager versus spewing online vitriol at him and blaming his decisions on unprofessional petty vindictiveness. If there is legitimate proof of it -- sure. I just haven't heard/read it other than on this board. And I know better than just to just assume stuff posted on a sports forum/board as absolute truth.
