Wright and Banks would be perfect specially if you got Ariza

I think the "offseason" in terms of aquiring the championship roster we want will more than likely bleed into the next season. If the Rocket's don't see anyone who is really worth the dough to throw at them right now, I think they will(and we should) just sit on it and wait for something to come along. The sign & trade scenario could be more useful up to the all-star break where teams get desperate to get value out of unrestricted free agents they fear will leave at the end of the next season(think of guys like Jamaal Magloire).

Also, teams nearing the All Star break who decide to enter rebuilding mode based on the season so far might be willing to allow the Rockets use of the trade expemption to shed some contracts to make some noise in free agency the next summer. Think about a team like the 76ers or the Celtics here...

I agree. With Lorenzo and Banks and Ariza, we would have tremendous depth. Now, top all that off by moving Howard and Rybo for Darius Miles and signing JLIII.

    Yao Deke Lorenzo
    Miles Hayes Lorenzo Battier Novak
    Battier McGrady Ariza Novak
    McGrady Snyder Head
    Rafer Banks JLIII

You would have so many matchup possibilities it would be crazy. Do you think Dallas or Phoenix or the Clippers or anybody would want to play against all that?

Shooting, scoring, slashing, defense, shot blocking, rebounding...that lineup has it all.

I got a little bit more interested in Marcus Banks after watching him block a face up dunk attempt by Stephen Hunter. That's pretty sick hops and defensive ability.

I don't want Miles, but all that "shooting, slashing, defense, rebounding" sounds great.

I hope the Rockets can get these guys. I also agree that Ariza would be great..we'd be stockpiling then..not enough playing time!

Won't West ask for McGrady and a 1st rounder for a sign and trade of Wright. Knowing CD, He'll throw in Head so Jerry will still like him

Counting Novak, we have 12 players. We have room for three more. I think we need two more PGs. Head is a SG - JVG said as much. I would like to see us split the MLE with Banks and VSpan (more to Banks, obviously), and use the TE on a 4/5 banger/shot blocker.

How washed up is Cato? Someone please fill me in because I rarely watch the Magic games. I'd be very happy if we can get back the 2003-2004 Kelvin Cato. He was as much a reason as Yao that we were the top defensive team in that season.

    1. Will V-Span even come over if we offer him a contract ?
    2. What is all the hype about Ariza ? His numbers suck....

I like Miles and L-Wright either one will do and then MB for our SG...

Dime Magazine rated our offseason very low....

    19. Houston Rockets – The last we heard, T-Mac isn’t feeling any pain in his back, and Yao Ming’s recovery from a broken foot is going according to schedule. Shane Battier gives them defense and some offensive help, but not as much firepower as Rudy Gay would have brought had they kept him instead

The Rockets still have their MLE and their trade exception. Lets get some more fire power.....
