Detroit is looking for money to spend on FA.

Mcdyess & Rip for Mcgrady expiring contract.

Or if you can swing it and everything matches Mcrgrady/Battier for Prince/Rip & Mcdyess

Bargnani finally showed very positive signs this season. He finally played some games to justify his #1 pick. He may still yet turn in Nowitzki part two. There will be several teams willing to pay him quite well. I highly doubt we're one of them.

Every REAL Rockets fan KNOWS that Hakeem was 6-11 (even that was being a bit generous) so please don't start buddy... They just listed him at 7' so it didn't look so lopsided when compared to our 7'4 PF Ralph Sampson that our dumbass franchise at the time pissed down the drain...

Pachulia or Gortat, one of them is likely the backup center for this team. The rockets have enough money for one of them, they likely want to come here, all high-paid players will not be here, we do not need a older guy either.

We don't necessarily need young... what we need is solid and NOT injury prone...

I'd rather go with these guys.

    Theo Ratliff
Kwame Brown - If he opts out
McDyess - not really a center though.
    Marcin Gortat.

Marcin Gortat is the guy I am most interested in, but he would probably like playing time and he would probably like a lot of money.

These will probably be our top 3 pursuits, but who knows what will happen.

Deke's production for his contract was a huge bargain and one that we likely won't get the benefit of again unfortunately. That's why it will be a huge deal if we can get out from McGrady's contract and stay away from luxury tax and we might be able to get us a quality backup center.

I do think in a perfect world Dorsey would be our backup C next year. Yeah, he's only 6'7/6'8, but he has such a huge wingspan that when he goes to block shots, he's more like 7'4. Too bad he didn't get too much PT this year.

I do think McDyess though will be our best option. He's older, so he's not going to command a lot of $$$. He's not really a true C at all, but many backup centers aren't true centers either. McDyess has gotten away from the injury bug which plagued him for a few years. He is automatic from about 18 ft so he can really spread the floor. He can still get up and down the court when we want to run. Detroit is likely to blow up that team so McDyess might be available. He used to have an offseason home here in Houston (not sure if he still does) and I remember we showed some interest when Detroit traded him to Denver in the AI/Billups trade, but he wanted to continue with the Pistons.

Anderson I believe has found a home in Denver, remember, he had some drug issues and was suspended. He's a fan favorite up there for his hustle plays. I think they'll want to keep him. At his current contract he's a bargain, but will someone be willing to break the bank for him; for a backup Center, definitely not the Rockets.

If the Rockets end up making a trade with the Clippers, they may have some interest in Deandre Jordan who put up good numbers when Camby was out. This past season, he would have been a college sophomore, so he is incredibly raw, but an athletic freak. I know we all have high confidence in our coaches and just think how much better coaching he could get from our coaches than the pathetic clipper coaches.

None of these guys are worthy or better yet would even except the MLE. Rasheed is going 2 want to start
    Okur isn't leaving Utah
Krstic should have never left the Nets. He isn't a center btw.
    Nesterovic is horrible
Ethan Thomas isn't leaving the Wizards.

Best option we have is from within..... Joey Dorsey. :D :D

Kwane Brown is not soft. But he has butter fingers and a low basketball IQ.
