But really Lee, at where Jordan and Dorsey were picked in the draft you take the best player available and I was very surprised Morey passed on Mario Chalmers. Hind sight is 20/20, but Chalmers is a good basketball player.
Even with Dorsey's standing reach and all, he was very redundant compared with the rest of the 4s the rockets currently had. Im a big believer in athletic size and shotblocking, especially when you have the slowest player in league as your center. Bynum, Odom and Aldridge are all going to mature and get better in the coming years, the rockets are going to need athletic size to help counter them, Im sure Adelman will insist that the organization cover up that huge hole. I just hope Morey can see that.

I know what you're saying and I think morey is wrong big time. Like dave 78 , I would like 2 bigs. It could be elson and magloire or mihm and elson or trade for a young jumping jack like shawn williams and still sign elson, magloire, mihm or sameone like that. When teams can just throw the ball over the top of you, you're too small.

Can someone inform me why Marc Gasol was picked so low? I hope Rockets can find similar impact players in Europe.

One big problem is getting a quality backup 5 is obviously minutes. I like Chris Anderson,he can play as a center and pf. I know he is doing well in Denver, but will he be satisfied with potentially even less minutes in Houston?
Zaza can fit as a center, but I don't see him getting more than 15 minutes a night. Would he rather prefer to go to a team where he can get a bit more time?

RA would want the team to run the floor when Yao's on the bench, so need a backup C with good height/defense, ability to run for about 10-15 minutes a game. I'd suggest go for the international basketball talent pool, lots of those EU guys would have problem scoring in NBA, but could play defense and grab rebounds, and most of them are used to the running game.

Dice man or Andersen. Pretty sure both are Free Agents and won't command a ton of money. DIce wants to win a ring, and Houston could give him PT and the chance win big.

Dice will only be interested IMO, if we have a healthy Yao and McGrady.

We need someone tall and athletic who can block out people like Pau Gasol. I don't know if anyone reads the scouting report on Gasol, but he just stands there in the paint and gets second-chance points off offensive rebounds. We found out about it in the last series, and the Nuggets found out about it last night in crunch time. Block the f*ker out.

They should offer barry for williams of nj. He's a pogo stick-shot blocking, dunking atheletic 4/5. He's a kinda head case, but so was birdman. He's young, but very energetic like wafer. They can also sign elson, magloire, or mbenga so when yao misses some games, they still have a 7ft er.

Elson has a player option,he would be ok. Mbenga might re-sign with the Lakers,he doesn't have the upside of Williams but could come cheap if nothing else is available. Williams showed real promise in his rookie year, but his mental issues are leading to great problems for him. Sort of like poor late EG. Magloire's days are over.
I doubt if NJ has any need for Barry anyway.

I wonder if we can trade TMac with Memphis for Ricky Rubio, Miles and Chris Mihm. Memphis already has Mayo, Conley and Gay, they probably don't need another PG. TMac and Rudy Gay can both play 2 and 3.

That Spaniard kid is going to be a perfect fit for Yao and the Rockets, and Yao gets a backup centre.

    Trade T-Mac for Shaq.

Shaq as a back-up Center? SOUNDS GOOD. (if unrealistic)

They don't have any use for barry, but they're not playing williams and barry contract is expiring. Elson has a po, but the rox have a 2.6te from the francis trade.

I know this long shot but what about swift just as a backup to block shot and make the 10 footer.

An even bigger injury risk than Yao, and that's saying quite a bit.
