What is supposed to qualify as bullsh*t misdirection that is easily proven as such? Is purposeful disinformation not lies?
My defense of Bitcoin in the Bitcoin thread. If you're lumping in Bitcoin with 'crypto', then that's your prerogative, but I hold them as wholly separate with the only commonality being cryptography. Sorry that phrase offends you for some reason, but I cannot think of another term for the idea. Feel free to suggest an alternative. Feel free to provide evidence or some compelling reason (even so much as just a WAG) to me as to how Bitcoin will not be good for renewable energy long term. I think it's a very interesting topic and I'm all ears. What do you mean by this? Bitcoin isn't a free source of energy, that's silly. And yes, I'm aware that all energy creation has some upkeep to it. Pointless semantics. Cool story, but none of this affects my point about green energy vis-a-vis bitcoin at all. 1) I never said Bitcoin or Bitcoin mining would 'reduce energy consumption'. Energy conservation was never the goal and otherwise that is a moving target (how much energy is too much energy when you're talking about running the entire world's financial architecture?), but a happy side effect is indeed the incentivizing of green energy creation. 2) If there is cheap energy available, then yes, Bitcoin miners will find their way to it. If that is causing prices to rise for people then that sucks and is an unintended consequence but I also imagine it's temporary and would be outweighed in the long run by the creation of more abundant and cleaner energy due to the incentive BTC provides. If you think I'm a "shill" (meaning I'm a dishonest, self-interested actor) then please put me on your ignore list. It would be better for everyone. You know what? I largely agree with you. The difference between you and I is that I don't put Bitcoin in with 'crypto'. Beyond Bitcoin, there are a handful practical, exciting applications for some of the technology... but right now we're in the beanie baby/tulip market phase. No actual use case? Too big to fail? I think you might need to go bone up on some fundamentals of what we're discussing here... these are pretty big red flags that you're missing some basics.
Even if it's not 'easily proven with the right research'... at the end of the day it's just some random jackass' opinion. If my fiduciary does this to me I'll sue them. Other than that, it's on me.
KPJ isn't a POINT guard he's a COMBO guard and his contract is an excellent store of value because he's an incredibly stable person and a finished product with no need for an intermediary.
I missed this thread when it first came out but I just posted a similar thread in Hangout from a Hassan Minhaj piece on the Daily Show about Finance Bros scamming people in pump and dump stock schemes. With anything there is caveat emptor but that shouldn’t excuse that in many cases these people are knowingly conning many. Yes people are greedy and their own greed gets the best of them get rich schemes though shouldn’t be considered as karmic judgements anymore than exploiting the gullible or naive is in other schemes. At the minimum I would hope people would recognize when something is a most likely a scheme. I would start with a few simple rules: 1. Anyone who contacts you unsolicited with financial “advice” shouldn’t be trusted. 2. Anyone that relies upon yelling and hype shouldn’t be trusted. 3. Anyone that relies upon bragging about their lifestyle shouldn’t be trusted. 4. Anyone who plays upon male insecurity shouldn’t be trusted. basically if you get a pitch like this about some hot stock, new crypto currency, or government money.
