you claim i'm giving the west coast too much love, you're all about the purple and gold!

you probably are eating Carl's Jr instead of Whataburger!

Eddie House showed that he could get it done in big minutes. Nice to see Tony Allen get some time too. And James Posey is the most clutch player in the NBA.

I repeat, I can't wait to read the first 3 pages of this thread.

Oh crap, I was lucky enough to forecast (different from predict) the Celts a NBA champs and I happened to be right. Hail to the birthplace which happened to be fortuitous.

This was the biggest choke job I've ever witnessed in the playoffs in my 20 years of watching NBA basketball.

Pretty much from day 1 the Celtics were the best team in the NBA. They made it interesting with their late struggles but they're showing why they were a powerhouse.

Plain choke job by the Lakers. The bad side of Odom, Gasol and Vujacic became apparent. A confident team like the Celtics is just gonna sense that and keep applying pressure (except Garnett)

A Carl's Jr burger sounds pretty good right now actually...

and where does the myth of the lakers "deep" bench come from? they were 5-21 tonight. basically their bench is farmar and vujacic shooting 3's, and if they don't do that, they aren't bringing anything else. kobe 6-19, bench 5-21, gasol being absolute garbage. how the hell were they ever even up 24? i hate sports.

What the heck was Pau Gasol doing the last defensive position when Allen drove to the basket. He was guarding Garnett out by the 3 point line and he left the freaking basket wide open for Allen to drive.

Pau Gasol is soft and a big choker...

Celtics experienced bench + great D > Lakers bench

Ariza went off the first half, then hardly came back in?

No, no, no...I was accusing you of no longer being a Rockets fan. Big difference! ;)

Seriously though, you're a good dude...you're OK in my book. And for your info, I already stated last week that I would rather the Celtics win, simply because there are more people on that squad that I like (Thibs, Doc, Sam I Am, Pierce and my favorite Houston-resident James Posey...I don't know if you've ever met Posey but he's a great guy off the court, and intense as hell on it).

Live post-game press conference on NBA.com for anyone interested.

I know ESPN is showing as I type, but I'm sure they'll cut away from it off and on.

The key is to stop the Lakers in transition. The Lakers are not that good in half court offense - crowded Kobe and the Lakers basically have nobody that can break down the defense in dribbles. The ball movement and player movement of the Lakers are so stagnant in half court. The Lakers offense just chokes in half court.

The Lakers still dont have a true low post. Gasol and Odom and softies. Bynum can finish better than Gasol/Odom around the rim.

But this game is still a bigtime choke job.

And stop comparing Kobe to MJ. It's not even close for now.
