Vujacic opening the lane for Ray Allen, Gasol nowhere in sight to help. Lakers sure could have used Bynum in that instance.
it wouldn't be at all. anyone knew the lakers weren't going to get lucky enough to have him keep sucking. now he's pulling off jordan moves on up and under layups. i think the celtics scored on at least their last 8 possessions. lakers had a chance to not be the biggest pieces of crap ever and their D gave up 8 straight scores and kobe couldn't keep scoring once he finally started driving. i don't even think i'll watch game 5, that outcome is pretty much in the bag after this deflating loss. maybe the nba will rig the outcome to extend the series.
Celtics defense is better than anything Kobe can throw at them. As I said before the series even started: this Celtics D is the best I've seen since the new rules came into effect, and easily top 5 of all time. They're just the better all-around team. A great team will always beat a great player...and Kobe just ain't no Jordan. Sorry, but he just ain't. Pierce has outplayed him at least twice in this series, and at the end of the day Celtics D is better than Kobe's O (even when they only play D for half a game). Now, hopefully Lakers will be able to muster a win for the next game, but I think they're demoralized now and Kobe just doesn't have that great a record in elimination games...but we shall see.
I am a Lakers fan BUT, but... I'll be happy if and when the Celtics win it. 'Cause I've been a KG fan, and feel like the Lakers are a bit spoiled this year. The Lakers have plenty of chances to win the next few years. But KG, PP, and Allen had a smaller window. Congrats to Boston, KG, and PP. (Pierce seems like a great guy, Allen not so much).
I wonder what Jerry West was thinking watching that meltdown? Must have brought back some old memories.
