How pathetic from the Lakers. It's all on Kobe here, Gasol has shown he hasn't got what it takes to take it up to the Celtics and bury them.
like i said, early leads mean nothing. and when two teams are equal, it more than often seems to hurt the team that gets the lead b/c they start playing the lead instead of the game. the lakers couldn't have collapsed more competely. blown dunks, kobe not being assertive and taking all jumpers (where are the drives?), letting pj brown have a wide open dunk, letting pierce drive at will. it really is like they don't care. and now they're bench is going to come in and play terribly and give up the lead. celtics in 5 is looking about right.
That was spectacular!! Was that a 21-3 run to close the 3rd quarter? Wasn't it 70-50 at one point? I'm glad the Lakers will be forced to earn this game. Fatigue could bite the Celts late but that's OK. I want the Lakers to sweat this out and be forced to into some pressure situations if they are to win this game. They should not be allowed to coast to an easy win based on the opening 15 minutes. Props to the Celts for the comeback.
That final defensive play of the third quarter for the Lakers illustrates how ridiculous it was for Kobe Bryant to be elected to 1st Team All Defense by the coaches.
has kobe ever played before? how many terrible shots is he going to take? finally drives to the rim. and then pierce lights him up. pierce has it going, and as we've seen in these playoffs, once he gets gong you absolutely can't stop him. and if the lakers can't stop pierce, they aren't winning this game. so it's pretty much the celtics game at this point. kobe will probably finish about 5-23.
Man.........Looks like a whole different game........ Lakers score willingly..... Now have to work very hard for a score...... Wonder who will win....... Game winner by Kobe maybe? or Peirce....
